A chisel looks very nice. Good job the only suggestion I would make would be to put a copper button in laid on the end of the wood handle. This way when striking it if need be it won’t damage or possibly chip or split the wood. Plus, I think it would look outstanding as well. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for this. I am going to make some paring knives from coils and was curious if it was thick enough for intregal bolsters. Nice start man can't wait to see it finished.

I think you're choking up a little too much on that handle of that hammer Give yourself a little bit more length and you won't have to work as hard You just have to get better at your aim.!!! 👍👍You definitely have more control when you choke up on the handle like that But you're working too hard let the hammer do the work for you Don't choke up so far on that handle.😇😇

I'm not completely 100% sure, but having just restored a transitional plane it seems someone during the 138 years of your plane went ham with the black spraypaint. Dont think the chipbreaker and blade should be black. They should be bare metal. Also the leading edge of the levercap (the non figured part) should be bare metal. the mating surface on the frog should also be bare metal. What I have gathered that when setting the frog it should be set so the blade beds perfectly on the frog AND on the wood bed below. So using a thin ruler to set the frog in line with the wood bed. There is no 'closing the mouth' option by moving the frog forwards on these transitionals. That and some other minor things makes these 'inferiour' to the metal planes Stanley made. But they are really smooth and nice to use either way.

While there are no doubt tougher pieces of pine that would last a lot longer, you're right. Hickory, ash, or other traditional handle woods are traditional for good reason. Light + durable is what you need. I doubt even the toughest pine would come close to hickory for a heavy hammer!

Obviously the shaky anvil doesn't seem to mess you up that much. I am sure it would be nice if it wasn't all over, but I bet you are so used to it it would mess with your method 😂
