I was on holiday in Weymouth when there was a Nato exercise taking place. Whilst Phillips had shells fired at him, while we were on board a small tourist boat sailing around the ships, the US Navy began depth charge practice!

Pertwee and Dennis Price, bother originals of the radio series, we're both cast in the film. Finding that Price was gay the director refused to cast him. Pertwee withdrew from the movie because of the directors action.
