Love this place - stayed here just before the pandemic. Lovely, old world atmosphere and breathtaking scenery.

This is a wonderful place to spend a day in the Summer. We'd camp down at Lake Crescent and head up to Sol Duc for the day. Fantastic! I especially like it in the rain, but then I'm a Northwester with webbed toes.

This looks like such a great family activity. For anybody that reads this comment, and have done this activity, is as calm as the video? I have people in their last 60s and early 70s that will be joining us. Rapids don't sit well with them.

Workers at this park are prohibbited from flying American flags.
@AndyDavidson-tg4un8 ай бұрын
I would like to go but i found out they ban the display of American flags by workers, and right now i feel we're losing our country to people like the superintendant of this park who hate America (she's from Portland of course) so I'm choosing somewhere else for my trip.

Hi, how was the expedition? I'm thinking of renting it but there are not much reviews on youtube on it. I'm afraid that since this is an older boat, it may look rundown.
@SwissDorito119210 ай бұрын
@@r1sabotage Don't rent the older ones, and I don't recommend even going to lake Powell for a houseboat, the whole operation is run by younger adults, and they don't know what they're doing very well. Plus, most of the older ones have mice, and with my experience the mice pooped everywhere, and the fridge didn't work. Also, I rented a toy for the lake (like a carpet that floats) and didn't even get it, and also didn't get a refund. Overall, I recommend you go to a different place to get a houseboat, or possibly rent one from someone else and bring it to the lake. (that would be worth it because if you time it right in like mid summer the water is perfect) Another thing, just for you to be safe, a lot of the shallow parts of the water aren't marked, so I recommend you have someone possibly looking over the front for shallow spots, as I got stuck a few times. Anyways, if you do end up going, I wish you a good time!

At 9:17, recommend you verify that five short blasts is considered a distress signal. My understanding (i could be wrong) is that it is a danger signal, not a distress signal. Also, last time I checked the USCG basic exam, selecting five horn blasts as the multiple choice answer for signaling distress will earn you a wrong answer.

I went to the resort for a bachelorette trip. After hiking to pass the time until our reserved slot - I went inside the resort to buy a Gatorade. I went in line and waited as a male employee helped an elderly man. 6 minutes went passed and I was not greeted, helped, or acknowledged in any way. I didn't say anything as the employee was the only one visible and who knows of the elderly man was hard of hearing. Where things change is when a group of white men walk in and get in line as well. As soon as they arrive, a woman comes out from the back to help them. I - obviously annoyed - asked why haven't I been helped and the employee stated that I should have been in the right line. Me as the only black person in miles and the only person never to be greeted felt the isolation of the moment. The passive-aggressiveness and the diminishment of my personhood. An I'm sorry, I would be right with you would have sufficed. No one ever said sorry to me. No one.

Under Powered Well, two 50hp outboards moved us along at barely 5 MPH ( based on the GPS). Fortunately there were no winds! The location of the dock to the actual marina required a lengthy hike down a compacted dirt trail. There was a valet service available ( told us 1 hour wait). There were no top deck pads/air mattresses. We had a few intermittent problems with the generator and the radio..the hull was built in 1977 per the placard, but appeared to have been updated. Our ship was N10..never again!

How to pick a houseboat at Wahweap Marina in 2021: - Make sure the batteries are not dead - Make sure toilet is not leaking and pump is working - Make sure tears in the flooring have not gone through the hull yet - Make sure the generator starts If all checks out, you are a lucky bastard!

Now we know who the large amass of people are who are using the warming hut, leaving their garbage and not leaving donations. If you're going to be exploiting that warming hut, Maybe your company should donate a few hundred dollars every time you use it to help with the maintenance and upkeep.
