Do you need a battery to start it just asking because I'm looking at buying one but the guy wants to charge extra to start it because it does not have a battery and he claims he has to take one off from his other bikeit has a kick start be

@@DEATH_BAT6531 i don't think you need a battery to kick start it. But even a dead or weak battery should be installed. These engines have no valve springs but torsion rods on the valves. Pros and cons. Fyi do your research

Had a new 2014 just like it, great machine. I moved up to a 2019 kodiak EPS 700 and now a 2021 Grizzly 700. Yamaha makes a great quad, enjoy!

Sweeeet! Love those vintage Hodakas! My friends had the models sold by Steen's in Alhambra, CA (best known for their Taco mini-bikes, but also sold Rickman Metisse as well), their "SS" model with Ceriani forks and rear shocks, and navy blue painted frame. Great little bikes, super reliable, nice trail riding characteristics and were very popular in the 100cc races in So. California.
