I ALWAYS enjoy Boomer. I am a bit older, but we share a background in military and figures and dioramas and have both modeled for many years. I still always get something new to try from every time I watch Boomer. His exploration of artist media and his willingness to try new techniques are inspiring to "break out of the box". I tend to regard Boomer as a friend that I just haven't met in person yet.

I still love the military modeler & figurine culture since I was a kid. Pretty much everything I do, I owe to that particular part of the hobby in terms of the "Art of the Diorama." All I do is carry it over to model railroading. Cheers. 😉

@@boomerdiorama Right, the Shepard Paine diorama sheets in Monogram Models kits were worth the price of the kit! Verlinden really helped the "average" modeler learn dioramas. Ken Osen of Britains and Hudson and Allen does some really beautiful military dioramas.

KZbin is the largest platform for Podcasts now over all other platforms and growing rapidly. Not Apple , not Spotify. KZbin! People no longer listen to radio podcasts like they used to but rather watch video podcasts. KZbin is fast becoming the go to platform for all video podcasts according to Edison Research. 😁

Boomer, The 88 and 3/4 year old gentleman is my Dad's best friend since they were both in kindergarten. They both are train nuts, both of their houses are filled with trains and all they ever talk about is "Boomer". He was just up at the hospital to see My Dad who's currently in the ICU and is very critical but not so bad that he can't watch you on my iPad that I brought in for him. The guy who sent you the letter and the trains couldn't wait to call and tell my Dad. Thanks for all you do to keep those two great best friends smiling and happy on a daily basis. Tom ❤

I model all sides, not only what you will hopefully see! It’s a model, it needs to be fully finished,. And my experience learns that if you like filming and shooting pics on it you will notice a lot more than when you are only operating it or just use it to stash your train collection on. But even if you’re not someone will someday tell you that you missed a few spots and that hurts.
@GenxDiorama6 күн бұрын
That’s why you should paint the track before you smack it down! A little more difficult with handlaid track, but still possible.
@boomerdiorama6 күн бұрын
@@GenxDiorama You can paint the track after it's down easily with an airbrush as well.😁

It will never be perfect, right?!?!?! I'm sure if we stood next to the Mona Lisa...we could find something wrong with it. LOL! I might have to try the pre-paint method...Thanks for tuning in and being an active part of the Section Crew!
@GenxDiorama6 күн бұрын
No never haha! Buy we all want it at least to be perfect for the average viewer and I think that has not to be difficult at all, it only takes time and effort. And sometimes find a way to do things differently. The tracks can sometimes be real hard to reach afterwards, like you guys allready mentioned. So planning up front will help a lot! But I’m a tortoise in these things. But I think most people are just to keen to smack the track down and have trains running. And because of that I also think most of us are collectors first. Not me tho’, I’m a modeller first! Like to take my time and do things over and over untill I get it right. Operations can be done later, just like Warren mentioned 😇

My question is, using 14 gauge for my bus wire, and 18 gauge for feeder wires, can I put two feeder wires into one connection hole (and thus get two feeders coing from one connection hole)?

Well, that Acelor-Mittal steel deal with AIM makes perfect sense. I was wondering what would happen to AIM in southern Ontario after Acelor-Mittal get their electric arc furnace up and running. That furnace is going to be gobbling up all scrap metal in the province. Good thing they control the network.

Talk about an area where I live……. I’m under 5 miles from Altoona,PA! I have Horseshoe Curve, Altoona Operations with lots of Rail Fanning. We had the Sam Rea Car Shops in Hollidaysburg,PA. Norfolk Southern is now the major player in the area. Lots of the PRR History and the Railroaders Memorial Museum is here and now in Mid September there is an N Scale Weekend Exposition at the Blair County Convention Center. Several videos are on KZbin for the last few N Scale Expositions for 2023 and 2024.❤ I just returned to the hobby after a 30 plus year hiatus from Model Railroading. I was thankful to KZbin for recommending I watch Roy Smith’s N Scale Union Pacific Evanston Sub Division Layout (Unfortunately, Roy passed away in August 2023), DJsTrains, some other channels, this Channel (Got to see Boomer). So, in the Fall of 2023, I got interested in getting back to wanting to run some trains in my basement, so I got my background walls painted Sky Blue with some “Rattle Can Clouds” and a desert type theme. Going to have a 13’ by 20’ area for a Freelance Operation in N Scale using KATO Unitrack. I have kept up my yearly subscription to Model Railroader since 1984. Man have a lot changed since the 1970s when I first got into the basic 4’ by 8’ sheet of 3/4” plywood HO layout with Atlas Snap Track. A lot of challenges face me. The downside is that I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Pancreatic Cancer in 2018, had surgery in 2019 and been on Chemotherapy for 5.5 years with on 2 weeks and off 2 weeks on what my Doctor calls “A Wiff” of the treatment drug. I wish I had more stamina and energy to pursue my dream to soon run some trains. Love the channel and panel of participants. If anyone reads this and can offer suggestions on what DCC Equipment I should consider from your recommendations and what Engines and Decoders to use, I would greatly appreciated and welcome your input. Again, I will be using N Scale KATO Unitrack. I’m working on a track plan that would be a layout at 42” in height, typical benchwork of 2’ by 8’ or shorter lengths of “Domino Sections” that I discovered from Model Railroader Magazine as made by David Barrow and his Cat Mountain & Santa Fe Layout. Allen Keller produced a VHS Video in his series of Great Model Railroads back in the 70s or 80s. David Barrow’s layout being featured in Volume 17. Some “Shorts” can be seem on KZbin. Thanks!!!
