This is so achingly, beautifully done! It’s biblical history as analogy for someone’s great, deep love-the kind when God is in the union, too. In the more complete lyrics, verses also infer a couple’s most beautifully holy feeling during sex, so strong, one feels God present in the union. & it then talks of how love can be broken over time, warped, twisted, it hints of the difficulties…. ….but the memory of that love always stays, & is what we need to hold onto for dear life, even when circumstances tear us apart.
