I had the privilege of having Nizlopi play at my wedding 8 years ago, they played this unplugged just like this for our first dance. To say it was magic is an understatement, they are my favourite band of all time and I would give anything to go back in time and not be so sodding drunk that I could have hung out with them later in the night! I’ll have to find the recordings we have and upload them. I’ll never forget being turned onto these guys years and years ago, listening to all of their records and becoming obsessed, then after falling in love and trying to find a tour date, seeing that they had split up…..for whatever reason I checked every now and then, and by chance saw that they had reunited for a couple of festivals throughout the summer (2014 ish maybe..) saw that they were playing a little festival in the southwest called Tonefest. Immediately bought tickets. Me and my future wife head down, gorgeous weather, cracking little festival in a country park, and there they were! We sat on a bunch of recycled sofas in a circus tent, drinking cans of strongbow and had the best musical experience of my life. I decided I was going to ask her to marry me that weekend. I went on to see them 3-4 times after that before thankfully they played at my wedding. They will never know how important their songs have been to my life, and how intertwined they’ve been with it. A really special gift which I’m very glad to have received. Lovely upload, promoted my embarrassing outpouring of emotion

Great tribute. My opinion of Nizlopi is the exact same as yours. I’ve been lucky enough to have seen them live numerous times. Nothing beats it.

Coming to this 10 years after the fact...Just incredible. I can remember to this day exactly where I was when I heard Johnnie Walker feature these guys on his show maybe 20 yrs ago..I was totally blown away then, same as I am now hearing this... Not sure if this tail is true or not but there was a back garden studio next door to where I live in Lancashire, the guy who ran it has since passed away but he told me "Half these songs" was recorded on it before he bought it. I'll be forever grateful to Johnnie Walker for opening my ears to Nizlopi.

Literally the most criminally underrated group. Beautiful song writers and so good that I can’t even listen sometimes as it cuts too deep. Also the small matter of greatly influencing Ed Sheeran.

Can't believe these guys didn't make it mainstream. Just don't understand. The stars aligned for ED though I suppose.

Yeah sucks they didn’t make it mainstream. I also heard they refused to sign with a record label which could of helped them get bigger but it is what it is
