yo dont even need the usb to do it , you can just use the internet install. how ever apple will not allow the removal of the OS on the internal but thats not a big deal seeing as we are not using the internal anymore.. i have a 512 inside my mini M1 tho it still as over 300 gig left on it i wanted more speed which i ended up with my external thunderbolt case with a really fast drive in it.. i get 3100 RW with my external as a Boot drive which is almost 400 RW faster then my M1 mini s internal

To install MacOS on an external Drive isn’t a good. Apple AI will not work, Smart on external Disk will not work. Leave MacOS on the internal disk and move home folders to the external disk.

As I cannot access those apps i have the ones of win11 but I am not downloading any from the Microsoft Store. Sorry. Make them as regular apps and I might download them . Thank you so much. I have limited knowledge of computers but following your step by step process I managed to update my Surface Pro 5 to Windows 11 24H2. Took me a bit of time but got there in the end. The only difference was when deleting the partitions on the custom install setup screen I could not delete 2 of the partitions. Judging by the sizes I think these might have been to do with the USB I was using. Anyway I couldn't delete them so I went ahead with the install and everything worked fine. For anyone doing this all I will say is take your time and double check everything to make sure you get it right.

I found an easy way to create usb - installer with opencore leagacy patcher app. Itˋs normally for unsupported macs but it works also with supported macs.With simple clicks you can create any kind of MacOS and betas usb installer. Booting Sequoia from external drive on my Macbook Air M2 killed AI. It only works if you boot from internal drive.

Hello, I have a Surface 7 laptop [ARM based Snapdragon Processor] and I want to have a fresh install. I could boot the windows 11 24h2 to the installation screen. But i am unable to select any option [ Language or time ], the touchpad/cursor doesn't work nor the tab button function to move through the options. Any suggestions how to fix it. please note that Microsoft has updated its installation wizard window now with 24H2

@Tefl-Dude; This is an absolute gem of a piece of work. Well done you. Thank you for the time you invested in this for all of us. I had a pair of SP5s with 7th Gen processors that I thought were done for, until I tried this. Worked 1st try, as you perfectly described. I used the ISO for 24H2. Both now have (and this worked as you outlined) W11 24H2 installed. That done, I tried this on a couple other models that you don't reference in your description. 1). A Surface Go (1st Gen). Worked perfectly, butttttt.... Stay close to home during the install, and monitor it, as most of the way through, it will reboot, and rather than pick up from where it left off, it will restart from scratch. If it does, simply cancel out of it, pull the USB (quickly), and it will *then* resume. Then; 2) a Surface Pro X (SG1 CPU). This rig completely ignored what I was doing, and skipped past the USB boot (as prompted in the BIOS), back to Windows. Not 100% sure if this was because it already had W11 (albeit 21H2, and I was trying to install 24H2) installed. Going to keep working on this, even though this model is eligible for W11 regardless. Again, warmest regards, and thank you for your efforts.

Unfortunately I can't for the life of me manage to get the Surface pro 5 (2017) to boot from the boot drive. I've reinstalled windows on desktops dozens of times and for some reason this one just won't boot from it. Followed your rufus guide, tried also just creating a usb image using the official installer, disabling all other alternative boot options (it just repeatedly shows the win logo on boot) and have no idea how to get this to work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
