VMware funds a lot of development of the underlying open source technology. Does Scale?

!!! BROADCOM IS ASSET STRIPPING VMWARE !!! Increase Prices! More Profit! Sack Staff! More Profit! Reduce R&D! More Profit! Reduce Customer Choice! More Profit! IN THE END! Product is Less Attractive! Too Expensive! And Is a DEAD END! And VMWare Is Computer History. MAKE YOUR PLANS! START MOVING FROM VMWARE NOW!

The demo was not very helpful because we couldn't see your entire screen. We need to see the full screen to understand what's going on. We are interested in SC, but we're doing our research first. edit: you should also put your socials and website URL in the description, make easier for people to get in touch.

Great job with the presentation Mike! Always excited to hear about the innovation SCALE is bringing to the market! Cheers!

My company installed a Scale system for video recording at a major food processor in the midwest of the US. I would be enthused to see more success stories outside of the "running from VMWare" narrative. We are definitely advocates of the Scale system.

Virtual hosting should be run on Linux or BSD. Full stop. Downtime could be ZERO if planned properly.

If you use static IP's, how do you get the nodes on the network so fleet manager can add them?
@ScaleComputing9 ай бұрын
Hi joelaw, good question! SC//HyperCore nodes obtain a temporary IP address from the network’s DHCP server, which they use to fetch and apply their configuration, including Static IPs, from SC//Fleet Manager.

I've been tasked to look into Scale Computing as an alternative to VMware. I can't tell if this is a point for or against Scale...

how do you connect external storage (NAS) directly with Scale computing
@craigtheriac1174 Жыл бұрын
Usually customers will just connect to the NAS from within the guest OS running on top of the cluster.

Using SCALE computing now. 3 Node Cluster for the past 4 years... we are refreshing our nodes in March 2023 and poossibly ading HC3 Unity Cloud for DR. SCALE is an awesome HCI product! IT server infrastructure got really easy to manage, backup and grow when we got SCALE. Thanks Jeff! (Quality Drive Away / Goshen, Indiana)

The great Tesla delima is the split in the road where the AI must choose between taking out the baby or the old lady... I say if the AI is good enough, it should be able to get them both.

Ok, so a little confused why I have to clone the VM on the replica cluster. Why could I not just be able to bring up the replica snapshot of the VM?

Thank you so much for this. Another engineer and I bumbled our way through this last year and I haven't had to do this since, so this visual guide has probably saved me hours of guesswork on getting the correct info in all of those fields for the project I'm working on this week. For anyone else stopping by who needs a conversion tool, I used StarWind V2V to convert my VHDXs to QCOW2s.

Excellent! Just went through this process tonight on a couple VM's that were failing with the regular HC3 migrate tool, and it worked like a charm. Amazing timing, seeing as this video just came out 2 days ago! Thanks!
