The main reason these very popular stoves were discontinued was EPAS emissions testing and certification proved too costly for several manufacturers and the got out of the business. That fact, as well as less demand due to cheaper propane costs. Not sure where the 6" versus 8" flue was an issue got started. Nice classic stove you have there.

@@Thelimeshopsc I had the Firestone Split Rim Widow Makers on a 1952 Ford F6. I replaced them with 5x8 pattern Budds off of a 1975 Coachman Motor Home with six 19.5 tubless drive tires all the way around. They bolted right up, and to get them centered, I used three sets of steel plumbing nipples, a 3/4" diameter inside of a 1" diameter shoved over it, all 4" long, and the nuts ran right down with no fuss on the two bare lugs. Then I pull them off one at a time as I add the rest of the nuts. I take the tires off the same way, putting the nipple sets on as I remove the nuts, then I jerk the whole shebang off in one motion with a 3' crow bar under the tire for lift. This saves the lugs from the heavy rim and tire assembly dropping down on them and marring them up,... and my back. I'm going to use the widow makers for tornado alley wind chimes. Good video.

@watchjaredwork14875 жыл бұрын
That is not a widowmaker. The only widowmaker rim is the two-piece firestone RH5 rim. Lock ring rims are only dangerous if you’re a complete moron.
@plumbingstuffinoregon24715 жыл бұрын
I have the type of rim shown in the video, and I just need to ad air to the tire. Is there any danger in that? The wheel is already mounted to the vehicle, it just has low tire pressure from sitting for a while.
@watchjaredwork14874 жыл бұрын
Random Stuff In Oregon no danger at all if you haven’t had the lock ring off and the bead is still seated. If you’re ever actually worried about it the best thing to do is wrap a log chain around the rim through the holes several times then it can never separate.
@macmac20614 жыл бұрын
Yes I agree but there is more than 1 widowmaker rim but that's the most dangerous
@macmac20614 жыл бұрын
@@plumbingstuffinoregon2471 yes it's not dangerous at all the rim in the video is not a widow maker even it's a split ring not a split rim ,/ widow maker

Hey Tim, if you haven't fixed the Merc. yet. Under the distributor cap there is a module they are famous for acting up when they get hot. They can test good when cold but when you run it and it get's hot they malfunction and you test it hot it will show bad.
