Beyond perfect considering the time! It was a truly magical era of South African music and culture! Fond memories are the only companions I chose to take with me on my next journey! Thank you E’Void! You made life fun for millions of people!

I haven't seen these guys for around 30 years (White Hart pub in Chiswick, London) and a the gang of us who used to see them every Saturday loved their music. Does anyone know if they're still performing?

I remember the nights down at the 'White Hart' pub in Chiswick, London back in the mid 90's where these guys played. They brought such good times to our little crowd back then and would love to see them again if they're still playing.

Heard Taxi Man over the radio in my local shop. Couldn't quite ID the artist. Old guy at the till asked if I was old enough to remember it. Said Johnny Klegg, Juluka/Savuka, then he put me right. Remember this song very well also!

I was there! Holy shit never saw such a huge crowd in my life. '85 was wild. Finished high school in the state of emergency. People were getting shot every week and there were more deaths and more funerals and riots in the townships every week. I went on foot via Putco bus to Soweto a few times in '85. On one occasion we had to dodge multiple mobs of comrades that were moving thru areas where we were by hiding in people's houses till they passed. Crazy times thinking back. The comrades used to gather in mobs of 1000+ people and toyi-toyi. Then they would all jump in unison and the thud traveling thru the ground would call the cops from far and draw them in. Then they would run or fight with stones and petrol bombs, sometimes using dustbin lids as shields. Those days if a cop said stop and you ran, he was entitled to open fire on you and kill you for nothing. Saw it happen with my own eyes.

I loved this band when me and a bunch of friends used to see them regularly on a Friday night at a pub in Chiswick, London back in the early 1990's. When they were finished a load of us would go to the 'Castle Tavern' an underground bar in Shepherds Bush, London for a few hours. What a place, it was full of Kiwi's, Aussies and Saffa's (and a few of us Brits too), in the summer it was like a sauna down there and even our sweat had a 'head' on it..... Great, great days!!!
