They rotate players staggered. Meaning they don’t have a spot that requires changing everything to accommodate one player. The 5 has to have the 3 point line. Just to allow for our drives. A traditional big keeps their big in the lane.

Any hope that Ousman Dieng can develop into that “5” spot the Thunder need so bad, even if it takes another 1-2 years? What a help that would be if OKC doesn’t have to spend a buttload of money on a 5 in free agency. Just curious.
@chickenwinck11 сағат бұрын
His ceiling is definitely that long 4 we’re describing… he’s just came in as a child and he refused to play aggressive/physical. Salaun shoots more and plays like a maniac
@jimorourke294511 сағат бұрын
Both got a chance for sure. Hoping that Dieng’s “MVP” in G-League finals will push him over the top and some aggressiveness will kick in. Got the size (and weight) to bully opponents under the basket if he is tough enough to use it. But I would have no problem with Salaun being the pick if he’s still around at 12. By the online comments looks like OKC will need to move up to get him.

For those who think Zach Edey "can't shoot 3", should go online and watch how he does in the practice. There is a footage on the KZbin showing Zach was knocking down 3 after 3 in the practice. The man can shoot. The reason why he is not taking a lot of 3 in the college is because of his team play schemes. He wasn't being asked to do that. His coach likes to play him in the middle instead of asking him to take 3. He would be way better than Clingan. Clinging can't shoot 3, or even free throw, and don't have the offensive skills Zach has. The Thunder needs to protect Chet and should shield him from getting bumb with opponent big center all the time. 80/20 is not a bad idea. 80% at center and 20% at wing is not a bad combination for him. That would prolong his career as well.
@Wrestle_Kingdom2 күн бұрын
Just because a player can shoot in practice doesn’t mean anything we seen plenty of players shoot in a open gym and in game they can’t do it so using that is pointless also Zach offensive game is not that good sure he dominated but that was due to him Being so much bigger and getting mismatches that will not happen as much in nba his post game is very limited he nothing special in the post not saying he won’t be a good player but a lot of things about him are a bit overrated
@jacktan4312 күн бұрын
@Wrestle_Kingdom So what? Draymond Green shot 20%, Ousmane shot 26%, Josh Giddy shot 26%, Lebron shot 29%, Russ shot 27% at 3" in their first year in the NBA. They are still in this league now. If he can shoot 3", that's just icing on the top. If he can't, fine, you just need him to screen, rebound, and dunk. We are talking about 3-4 mins a quarter, 15 mins per game. He is basically taking Gordon Hayward playing time, although he can really play long period of time if you need him to. He has a better physicality and conditioning than Clingan, or Chet.
@Wrestle_Kingdom2 күн бұрын
@@jacktan431 no way you compared Lebron,Russ,draymond to Zach Edey they are nothing alike and I never said him not being a good shooter is a problem did I? @Wethole14Күн бұрын
Jeff Teague tells a story of Jason Collins shooting 100/100 on 3’s in practice and sucked in games. Live ball is way different than practice and that’s why Zach didn’t shoot any in games
@jacktan431Күн бұрын
@Wethole14 And what is your point? He took 2 3" and made 1 this year. Just because he didn't take 3" doesn't mean he can't shoot 3". That was due to his coach playing scheme. Even if his 3" not pan out in the real game now, doesn't mean it can't be in the future. The man doesn't even need that to be dominated playing this game.

Only difference between OKCs gameplan and Boston’s is that they have a big wing they could put on the 5. If we had one we could do that and use Chet like they’re using KP/Al and the corner 3s we gave up would turn into top of the key 3s. Making Gafford and Lively have to play in the dunker spot takes away so much space in the PnR for Dallas and turns them into a pick and pop team

My draft thing was when Devin Booker went 13 to the Suns and Thunder select Cam Payne at 14. This led to the famed Randy Foye trade deadline pickup.
