One little quibble - from the original filming in 1977, the Air Force General at the Pentagon should most likely have been played by Bruce Boa (Harry Hamilton on the _Fawlty Towers_ episode "Waldorf Salad", the Pogue Colonel from _Full Metal Jacket_ and General Carlist Rieekan in _Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back_ from the same year as this film's release) for the purposes of continuity, but you gotta use what you can to fill in the gaps.

I was an extra in this movie. I played the gay guy in the crowd during the "STOP! The people!" scene. In the script, my character wasnt gay, byt i thought id make him gay so i could feel like he was a real character.

When I saw Superman 3 I thought, is this made by the same people who made the first two? Because it REALLY seemed like it wasn't. I always wonder why studios do this with sequels. They forget everything that made what came before awesome and just go in a totally different direction and have different people working on it and then they wonder why it bombs. And then Superman 4 tried hard to get back to the beginning but, unfortunately, failed.

He was so wrong in my opinion. Superman IV was probably the worst one, but mainly because it was handed over to Cannon Films and the budget was small. I actually love Superman III. I think it was a true comic to screen type of movie.

The problem with Superman IV is not the storyline. The idea of Superman interfering in the arms race and dealing with a Super-Dude created by Luthor using Superman's plan to get rid of the nuclear missiles is great. The low budget, some poor dialogues, bad cinematography, bad editing, etc... some shots are really ashaming like Superman flying the blonde lady IN SPACE. Needless to say, Chris Reeve nails it again in his performance. I saw in an old 80's interview that the beat of Superman speaking Italian with the people after freezing the lava was HIS IDEA on set. He was there to watch the stunt double doing the flight scene, and then he realizes: "Well.. at the beginning of the film Superman saves the Russian and speaks Russian, so here makes total sense to show him speaking Italian. That will reinforce that Superman is a hero for THE WORLD." I mean... come on... even in a bad movie, he still is always doing HIS BEST for the character. <3

This convention was on May 14, 1994.. He was paralyzed in that same month just a year later, in 1995 😢 On May 27 to be exact. So what you’re seeing here is just 1 year and 13 days before his accident. RIP 💙

00:55 Oh, dearest Christopher.. If only you’d known how horrendous SUPERMAN 4 would then turn out 😢 HE was still good in it (as always) but my god, Superman 4 truly is one of the biggest embarrassments in movie-history. I KNOW his intentions were good, but again - If only he’d known! It should’ve never been made. Superman 3 is not a great film, but compared to Superman 4, it’s a “masterpiece” 😮

Going by the description of the Comic Con and the footage of Christopher Reeve and the fans, I'd say he treated them with respect and courtesy. The fact that Christopher Reeve made allowances for the public to be safe and didn't charge money for his autograph, makes him a class act!

You know if Christopher Reeve never had his Horse Accident and 9/11 happened Christopher Reeve would immediately be one of the first people to go to Ground Zero to Volunteer and make meals for people and I know if he showed up there Police Officers and Fire Fighters who of course are the real heroes on that day and would immediately say Superman is Volunteering and cooking meals and same thing with The Batman Voice Actor Kevin Conroy and two Juilliard Alums fun fact and yes Kevin Conroy Volunteered on 9/11 and if Christopher Reeve never got injured he would volunteer immediately if he never had that accident.

It's interesting how the comments go from praise to hateful as the years pass. Do any of you understand how much harder it was to edit video like this over a decade ago? It wasn't just put some command into an AI program and let it do all the work for you.

I think they had some differences on set and Reeve said made some comments about his father during a drunken dinner with cast and crew. I don't think that makes him a bad person, as we've all had daft moments. The way he treats people in this video, particularly the children, says a lot about what a kind person he was.
