I’ve been using PolyWorks Inspector since 21017 and just updated to 2024. I have every update for the last 7 years. My problem is accessing older data without having to opening the older PolyWorks Inspector programs. How do I bring older data to the newest update?

Hi! Thank you for your support and updated. We have a macro available that will perform a batch update off all older projects. This macro is available on the MyPolyworks customer portable on the macros tab. Here's the link : my.polyworks.com/s/macro/a9Q4Q000000LIdLUAW/batch-upgrade-projects Please don't hesitate to reach out to our Support group at [email protected] or by phone at 1-888-688-2061 in case you encounter any difficulties with this problem.

Should we need to align the new piece again? Or it will automatically align with world. And in new piece the nominal also need to be given again or it will extract automatically?? Please reply

I wonder how come every time you launch the inspection on the piece the window for selecting the new .stl would pop-up? 4:34

Nice video and finally this industry is catching up (very slowly) with what many other industries have pioneered 15-20 years ago (!!!)... anyhow, maybe appliance quality will improve... hopefully... based on my experiences as a professional engineer and a person who helps a lot at home is, that there is NO maintenance technician feedback data loop to the appliance design engineering community. Appliances break down, very slowly they get fixed (because parts have to be ordered and that takes often 2-4 days, then shipped, then new repair appointments must be made, then re-assembled, overall taking 8-14 days typically in NJ, USA!!!!) and the reasons for the breakdowns do not get communicated to the design teams! This is a HUGE mistake... wonder if GE will change this (eventually?)... There is a lot of data here, that could be used for cont. quality improvements, but in ALL cases I have seen in the past 40 years with GE, LG, Samsung, BOSCH, Whirlpool, etc. appliances is that this feedback loop does not exist at all... AMAZING! Imagine a HONDA, or a TOYOTA service not sharing maintenance issues, trends, statistics, analysis, etc. with their design / manufacturing engineers... HOW MANY MORE YEARS will this take to understand for appliance designers and manufacturers? TRAGIC isn't it? And we all know that QUALITY sells... companies should not be afraid of building good quality product... Best, Paul

Now the question is: can we extract a poly line and measure it on a CMM instead of a scanner?
@zachk73053 жыл бұрын
YES! I was so confused why this wasn't a thing when cross sections and poly lines were!
@zachk73053 жыл бұрын
Oh man, this is the sort of thing Inspector needed to really be considered CMM software as opposed to just laser scan software. Very excited to see what else is in this release for CMMs!

How are the clip centres generated? I understand it created by using create a feature > create a point... but what are the next steps once you have selected all the reference elements? Hope you can help.

So, I work in a foundry, and we have very few CAD models available for the parts we make. When I try to use True Position on a feature, it says "datum features must have a nominal component". However, when i go to "define nominal", it often gives me an error and doesnt allow me to define it. I'm often using constructed features (for instance, a cone for a boss on a part, intersected with a plane on top the boss, to find the circle at max draft) as my datums. In fact, I rarely use the "fit" feature you showed in this video (find it more finiky and difficult to get what I want out of it) Is there a way to define these constructed features' nominal values to allow positioning GD&T?

So you made a Reference object with a scan of a door knob?
@dharam4u25 жыл бұрын
We have tubes with holes, with all the GD&T. Holes on a tube is not a circle, but a cylinder in CAD. How do I make them in to circle? How do I measure the circle without the constraining plane? Reason: Difficult to scan or probe a cylinder on a thin walled tube. Any help is greatly appreciated.
