Is the dye that's added to the mulches harmful to the soil? No body seems to be able to answer that obvious question.

Anyone who tells you to use round up doesn't understand the damamge it causes to your garden, and your health. Round up has already been sued for billions because their crappy product causes cancer on top of permanent damage to your property.

You say at 2:56 that pulling weeds is 'old school' and suggest instead using Roundup. A good suggestion - if you want to kill/pollute the health of your soil and that of all your neighbors who share the same ground water. I realize your video was published in 2012, but the extremely harmful effects of this product have been known for many years.

Where to begin with the bad information provided here? Round Up kills plants. Period . It does Not know which plant you have decided is a weed. When you spray Round Up, it volatilizes and drifts on the wind, Killing plants where that mist lands. At your house and your neighbors....can you see the liability, at the least, that you are setting yourself up for? Don’t spray Round Up. And look at that water behind him -- are there fish? Do birds come get a drink from that water? Do you want butterflies and bees in your pretty landscape? Don’t use Round Up. Second, if you plant the right plant in the right place, then you don’t have to keep enlarging the flower beds/ digging up your lawn to accommodate the plant that was the wrong choice to begin with. More work, more grass, then, weeding and weeding in the flower bed to remove the grass.....why create all that aggravation? Do some research and look at the growth pattern and mature size of the plants you are considering and you’ll be happier and your beds will be proportional and well designed. Don’t use dyed mulch. Again, you are introducing God knows what into your garden with that dye. Natural brown mulch is just that, Natural. Let’s your plants be the focal point, right? If not, forget the plants, just have a bed of mulch! save time and money, sit back with a bevvie of your choice, and admire your handiwork. 😁

@@nicholaskloss7198 I'm already grown =( Sorry =( I just don't make a comment lightly... I base my observation on science. Below is one of my resources for information... check it out =) One of the world’s most widely used glyphosate-based herbicides, Roundup, can trigger loss of biodiversity, making ecosystems more vulnerable to pollution and climate change, say researchers from McGill University.

@@nicholaskloss7198 If that was true, they wouldn't have lost their lawsuit in court for causing cancer. What's really sad is that people make " grow up ", or " do some research " comments when they are the ones who are lacking in knowledge.
