Hi great review...I come from the area where the brewery is...a little fun fact, the brewmaster is not Bavarian and also not German, but an American. Eric Toft was born in Wyoming and has been brewing this excellent beer for over 20 years now. When he first started working at the brewery, the locals were skeptical whether an American could make such a beer and whether it would still be as tasty as the old master brewer's! The answer: Yes he can, the recipe has been changed a bit but it is still an absolute top beer!!! Greetings from Bavaria😉

I have this one in my fridge and going to test it soon. I'll compare it to my other favourits (in order): Augustiner oktober, Augstiner Edelstoff, Weihenstephaner Original Helles, HB original. Got a helles from Tegernsee too that I will give try. Expecting them all to be around 9 out of 10 mark.

It gets imported pretty fresh a few times a year into the US. Really good authentic helles

2024 version. Golden color. Medium, white foam, falls quickly. In the aroma red citrus, stone fruit. In the taste grain, citrus, stone fruit and tropical, raisins. Oily with low carbonation. The whole is bland, without holiday enthusiasm.

Had this a few times nothing special or stand out, but definitely a lot better in flavour profile than the regular one, a bit too thin, prickly and carbonated for me though, I rather softer more bodied weizens, can get this is my local supermarket but I rarely bother to buy it, had a great one called vice beer recently by Munich brew mafia who is a fantastic little brewery, every beer by them is top class was in Munich recently and beers of the trip weren't from the usual big six catalogue, paulaner nocherberg unfiltered helles and dunkle were fantastic(only available there ) and had another great unfiltered helles at paulaner Brauhaus way better than the export macro stuff we get here. But imo they still can't top the Franconian stuff. Had a green hopped octoberfest marzen beer at tap house was amazing best beer of trip. Cheers for review🍻

Erdinger's Pikantus stands head and shoulders above the rest of the range which is decidedly "meh".

Can't go wrong with Sam Smith's great traditional English ales. 😊

I was in Pennsylvania USA visiting family last weekend and a bottle shop there had Wendigo and Jaguar God which I scooped up for US $63 each. They’re worth every penny. Those are double oaked barleywines. I bet a Tripel barrel is INSANE.

Hoping we get some of these Barley Wines in the UK soon, I'd love to try an Anchorage.

I live in Rhode Island USA and it’s so insane to me that you can get a Long Live beer in Denmark.

When the “hype” around this beer reached me, it was already sold out in every shop I could imagine. Luckily, I went on a business trip to Spain and found a bar in Madrid where they still had two bottels, so I could buy one an it’s currently in my suitcase 😊!! Very curious about this one 🤩🍻!

Beer nerds were losing their minds when they first released these things at tired hands. The brewery was hyping it up for weeks but refused to release the price. People were in line and still wondering what the cost would be. It did seem quite ridiculous. And then the bottles were still available for weeks afterwards.
