sadly the masses of mis information has worked and done a lot to hold back Australians buying cars that are far better for them, not just on a health front, but a hip pocket level with far cheaper operating costs. Sadly many media stories happily perpetuate they well debunked myths, and ultimately cost Australians more.

Is the "Expert" is trying to say that the magazine Good Housekeeping or Forbes have the expertise in all sectors just because they are large businesses. From other point of view, because I am small business with 15 years of experience in the field, I am not competent enough to share my ideas online!

...Well second interview I have seen where IF is wanting to bring other industries (alcohol) down, whilst building hers up. Given the business has now collapsed, I was totally shocked to find out yesterday, that she has been brought out by an alcohol company.

Whoever made that "Simon stole my sausage ad' should be sent to Christmas Island. The wife's fantasy friend looks like a severely disabled autistic man and the daughter is ugly in a way that only modern advertising could achieve.

1. Reasons for Selling: Dr. McCaskill identifies three primary reasons for selling a business: selling due to financial trouble, receiving an unexpected attractive offer, or a planned decision to sell. The latter is the most ideal scenario. 2. Preparing for Sale: - Consider the perspective of potential buyers. Tailor your business to align with what buyers are seeking. - Different buyers may value various components of your business differently, such as employees, intellectual property, location, or customer base. - Focus on creating future value for the buyer, rather than just showcasing past profitability. - Document your knowledge, plan for customer and employee transitions, and develop a succession plan to ensure a smooth transfer of the business. 3. Value Creation: It's not solely about profitability but also about creating value for the buyer. Understanding how the buyer will extract value from the business is crucial. 4. Professional Advisors: Seek experienced advisors who understand the intricacies of selling a business and have a track record of creating exit value. Advisors should comprehend that it's about creating value for the buyer, not just relying on traditional valuation methods. 5. Applicability to Smaller Businesses: The principles of value creation and preparation for sale apply to businesses of all sizes, including local shops and sole traders. It's about projecting future income reliability, minimizing risks, and facilitating a smooth transition.

With respect, in real terms this is not an increase to wages, but in fact a decrease. When a business increases their prices with respect to CPI that's considered normal, when rents are increased by MORE than CPI this is considered normal. Why is it we as a society should expect the worst off in our society, those on minimum wages bear the brunt of that cost? Even renowned neoliberal conservative Milton Freedman has advocated for wage increases equal with inflation. If you want to find ways of assisting small businesses you need to find a way to do so without taking money away from award and minimum wage workers. The inflation we're experiencing now is still the lingering effects of the COVID years in supply shortages and exacerbated by the war in Ukraine, supply side economics. This anti-worker attitude is really quite disappointing to see from people like you in the community. The fact of the matter is award wage workers, even with the 5.75% increase are STILL going backwards in real terms, which means businesses are actually paying less for labour, not more. Oh but times are tough some may say, well what about before COVID? Inflation was relatively low for most of the 2010s, so by your logic that's when they should've received real wage increases? If that's the case it's still wrong because real wages went down during that time. So, when exactly should workers have real wage increases? During low inflationary periods or high inflationary periods? Seems to me pro-business groups keep shifting the goalposts when their arguments don't stand up. Many will say that this increase is not enough and criticise the government for being too pro-business and not pro-worker as much as they should be. The government is walking a very narrow tightrope and so far doing a good job. The RBA themselves have stated that the budget is not inflationary, rather deflationary, and that these wage increases as they are, are not going to add to inflation. Worth keeping in mind that there is equal business interest group representation in the Fair Work Commission to worker interest groups. If small businesses need assistance, they would do well for themselves to stop whining about the wage increase and lobby the government for tax considerations and other assistance. Perhaps the government can compensate on payroll tax in exchange for broad support to ditch stage 3 income taxes, or alternatively, maybe its time for another Prices and Incomes Accord. Remember that? If workers are going to be asked to take wage cuts, then they need to be compensated with a social wage and expanded welfare state benefits, such as expansion of Medicare and Denticare.
