I am no expert but I recently got monetized. One thing I did notice a while ago is the thumbnail helps to get click through and then youtube noticing you have clickthrough will offer more impressions. (meaning more chances to land a big video). Good luck.

Yeah, people buying used couches aren't going to judge you cause you got a few dents on your vehicle. Good to see you're doing great.
@donarcher55553 ай бұрын
You can get a lot of couch in that thing.

Hey Bro! your couch flipping content is awesome! I work for a company and we have a couch flipping podcast haha I was wondering if you had an email I could reach you at? would love to have you on!
Have you made $1,000 on KZbin yet? I noticed that your channel growth has significantly slowed with less than 100 new subs in the last 3 weeks. Any plans to change the content? I'm not sure that using the same thumbnail for every video is a good strategy. Many people scan the thumbnails to get to new stuff and using the same thumb each time just makes it seem like they've already been there and done that, if you know what I mean. What partnerships do you have with your channel?
@spencerwebber4 ай бұрын
I haven’t made $1,000 yet. Even though the initial excitement has died down a little bit, I’ve still been doing a lot of work behind the scenes. I’ve been working on updating all of my thumbnails to make them look a lot more interesting and I’ve been putting together some better videos. Stay tuned!

Hows your hours going?
@spencerwebber4 ай бұрын
The hours are growing slowly but surely. Right now I’m at about 480 watch hours for the last year. I need to get to 4,000 to get monetized, so I’m about 1/8 of the way there! I’ll get there eventually

Looking forward to your new content, Spencer!

Spencer, I see that you've changed your profile thumbnail. You look professional and everything. But, my input is the previous profile was better. It had a classic look that nobody else has. Just my two cents.
@spencerwebber4 ай бұрын
Thanks for your input. I’ve just updated my thumbnail again with a better thumbnail that I think suits my brand a little bit better!

I’m not really flipping couches right now. I have quite a few irons in the fire already. I do however like to look and see what’s available. I had a couch come across my Facebook marketplace this morning for $80. I am out of town so there’s no way I could’ve done anything about it. It is now listed on Facebook marketplace for $300 from somebody else… HMMMMM.

Thanks, Spencer. I enjoyed the tour. One thing I liked about one of your previous videos was the story you told about the crazy lady who was upset that you were selling the couch for a higher price than she sold it to you. She had someone else "trap" you. True stories like that I find interesting. One idea for a video is to discuss the things that young people who are looking to start a business think about. Maybe they're working at a job full-time, but want to venture off on their own. But specific things are holding them back. Fear of failure, fear of not being able to pay the rent or provide for their family. All these things are top-of-mind and they don't want to goof up. How did you overcome these things? And what advice would you give people to overcome their fears? Do you suggest that they save a specific amount of money to pay for living expenses before they venture into a business of their own? You're doing great kid.

Thanks Spencer. Got some more unsolicited advice for you. How about a ride along video delivering a couch or some other things you do day-to-day that helps grow your business? If you're worried about creating competing gunslingers, the labor intensity of what you do is kinda prohibitive to most folks. We just want to see what's going on with you. Have you ever watched the Alfred Hitchcock movie The Birds? It's a two hour movie that doesn't show any bird on human violence until about 26 minutes into the show. Hitchcock keeps you interested with what's going on in the lives of the characters in the movie. It's the story that keeps us interested. I know these things take planning, extra time, and editing, but when you get to a million subs and sponsors are knocking down your doors, it will have been worth it. Thanks again.
