Another thing about taking responsibility is don't take more responsibility than what you can handle. For example don't say that I can do all of the services in the church on my own because this will stress you out and stress the other people out as well. Like in the liturgy for instance there's a responsibility for the deacons and responsibility for the priests, bishops, metropolitans, and the Pope. For example the priests can't tell the deacons to choose which orban will be the body of Christ because that's his responsibility. On the other hand the priests can't make the orban for the offering of the lamb because that's the deacon's responsibility.

One of the things about taking responsibility is that we shouldn’t do our responsibility and the responsibility of the other people because this actually will stress you out and the stress the other people out as well. And plus there’s a big difference between helping people with something and doing something that you know they can do by themselves. For example the parent can help the child with the homework but on the other hand the parent should not be doing the homework because when that happens this means that the parent is teaching the child to be lazy. Another point about taking responsibility is don’t wait until the last minute to do something because this actually will stress you out. For example let’s say that you have a test a week from Friday but instead of studying the whole week you wait until the day before which is Thursday and then you start studying this means that the chances of you passing the test is very slim just because you didn’t study the whole week. Another example is let’s say that you have a paper that is due in May but instead of working on it the whole month of April you wait until the last day of April and then you start working on it this means that chances of you getting the paper done is very slim because you waited until the last minute to do it. So in other words in general instead of waiting until the last minute to do the task just do it immediately.

The answer for th question why did God reject Cain's sacrifice is in Mathew 5: 23-24. Jesus himself is giving the answer. God already knew the heart of Cain and his jealousy heart towards his brother Abel .God also warned Cain ( Genesis 4:7).

In order to avoid getting bored during the liturgy you need actually to sleep early so you can wake up early and get ready for the liturgy. And actually if you are planning on dressing up as a deacon then you need to be at the liturgy before the absolution of the servants because once the priest, bishop, or metropolitan saids the absolution of the servants you can’t dress up as a deacon after that.

There are some things we can participate in and some things we can't participate in. For example we can participate in the CBA because basically we're playing basketball together. But on the other hand we can't participate in a wedding reception because there's drinking and dancing and as Sunday School Servants we shouldn't participate in a wedding reception.

There are three lessons that we can learn from this parable. Number one is that we need to force ourselves to do things that we don't want to do for example we need to force ourselves to go to church even if we don't want to. The second lesson is we shouldn't say to ourselves that we don't have time for everything because everything that we do we should do it for the glory of God as St. Paul said first Corinthians chapter ten verse thirty one. Also this parable is similar to the story of Mary and Martha where Mary was sitting and listening to God's word while Martha was busy serving. And Martha asked God Lord do you not care that Mary left me to serve alone and God replied to her saying Martha Martha you are worried about many things but one thing is needed and Mary chose the good part which is will not be taken away from her. The last lesson that we can learn from this parable is if we put a schedule for ourselves everyday it will make our day so much easier and more importantly we will find the time for everything.

Why do some Orthodox use the KJV, a Protestant bible? Isn't their English translations of Orthodox bibles much like how the ESV is a modern English translation of Luther's bible?
@StPaulHouston
@StPaulHouston Жыл бұрын
We use it because it is the translation that is the most faithful to the original Hebrew and Greek. The preferred translation is Septuagint, however because they are much more expensive and organize differently than what people are used to, the Protestant translation has become the de facto standard. Ideally however Septuagint would be used as this is a more accurate translation of the Old Testament

@@StPaulHouston thank you God bless. Brenton translation seems okay. Also what do I do if there's not an Orthodox church nearby. I live in a small town and the nearest church about an hour away. I have plenty of churches in my small town but they're mostly Protestant with few Mormon churches and a liberal Catholic Church
