Actually saw a ribbon skirt a young lady was wearing, over her denim, looked like cheerleader skirt bottom but was all ribbon and bling. Very unique.

I just wanted to say Thank You for making a sash mum, I just finished my god daughter senior mum today. Because homecoming is this Friday. You are a great person to show instructions on how to do these braids.

LOVE this braid so much!! Thank you for this video and all of your videos!! You (and craftybug) have been a godsend making mums for my freshman and her friends this year!! For this braid, I found if I take the right weaving ribbon and toss it behind the center ribbon for the twist I can get nearly effortless, even sections every time. Sharing incase it helps anyone else! I have no idea how you manage to get them so perfect without doing that! Such an inspiration! Again thank you so much for taking the time to make these videos!! Look forward to seeing more 🩷

Hey Connie! I have really relied on your videos to help me this season. Thank you thank you. I made something that was accidental but gorgeous and was wondering if it is already a thing and I just don’t know the name? I made a love braid with satin and it was all wonky so I stretched it open and it was completely gorgeous

Well said Connie!!! 😊 I love the way you think and the way you talk about the whole situation! You don’t beat around the bush. I don’t live around your neck of the woods but my daughter does. I love your attitude and your work. I enjoy watching the three talented (amigas) friends TJ and Hiya. Actually Hiya was the first one I ever saw on here years ago and that’s how I came across your work and TJ as well. Any way I appreciate your work and your dedication keep up the good work girl. Take care and stay blessed my friend.

Help… I am making a big heart mum but girl is 4’11” tall. Does it look weird to add shorter ribbons on a big heart mum head?
@thesoutherncottage9 күн бұрын
Not to me, it doesn’t. It would look even weirder if it was too long and dragging on the floor.

Connie, love your videos. This year my daughter is a junior and I have absolutely fallen in love with making mums. I’m hoping to start making braids for DIYers next season. I have been practicing and accidentally came upon something interesting. If you don’t like the tension on your victory chain throughout you can pull it open and it makes a great braid that isn’t in the spotlight but an excellent filler

Thank you so much for this video Connie.... I grew up overseas and Homecoming mum/garter is a totally new thing for me. I just happen to like art & crafts (and ribbons!) so I decided to try making my son a garter. When I first looked up mum/garter, I came across some mum/garter ordering pages - I was shocked with the pricing... but as I start buying the materials (and keep buying more and more ribbons - and tools), I totally get it why they're priced the way they are. Also like you said, the time it takes to create them is quite substantial. It's not just one hour and you're done... I don't plan to turn it into a business, but I do enjoy making the braids and working with ribbons.

Thank you for posting your price sheet. I know that is very personal information, so I’m appreciative that you did that for us. I’ve only just started making mums/garters, for my own child, and a couple family members, but I’ve had several people express interest in possibly ordering from me next year, so I know that I have to figure something out, and it is overwhelming. I’m at that place where everything seems to take me longer than it should, so it’s hard to know exactly how much to charge. 😓
