Thanks for putting this recipe up. I’ve made the mix but having trouble with it starting to ferment? Tried adding the yeast again, but still no fermentation? Just wondered if you could tell me what I’ve done wrong ?

Is the yeast active when you are putting it in the mix? It should be prepped in luke warm water and left to start bubbling, it’s pretty obvious when it’s started going. See 4:38 in the video. The yeast mix is active and bubbling. If the water (or the mix you’re putting it in) is too hot, there is a chance you are killing the yeast. Don’t add it to the mix until it has cooled sufficiently 4:00. Hope that helps!

Thanks for your reply.. the yeast was active when I added it to the mixture (bubbling). And the mixture was 29c, the second time I tried to add the yeast the mixture was room temp. I’ve waited over 36hrs. Not sure where I’ve gone wrong, thanks again for your help. Grew up with black beer at Sunday roast 👍

I tried to move to NY in 2004 but it didn't work out. I was in Manhattan with my car for one day. I had a job waiting for me but it didn't work out. I went back to Texas. :(

My wife’s from Yorkshire and this was her favourite particularly when she was a youngster and at Christmas. I am tempted to have a go at this and see what happens. How long do you think it will last once it’s been bottled?
