Apparently a ‘Doris’ is a homosexual, after Doris Day/gay. Does that mean this great song is homophobic? Wow, if so, that turns it all on its head for me. Not good. I loved the song till I googled that.

Only saw them once in a sold out hometown social club round the corner from camden palace/koko. It was like having a band play in your own front room. The excitement was i guess similar to seeing the pistols or madness performing in their very early days to their mates.

Flowered Up should have had a long Music career. Sadly it didn’t happen, I thought they were ace. I am a former St Aloysius pupil in Camden.

Saw them at the Venue in New Cross during the height of their short lived fame around 1990 - and what a band. The gig ended in chaos with them throwing their gear at the crowd after some rival South London bad boys kicked it all off. Liam going nuts and Barry Mooncult jumping in to the crowd complete with flower around his head. Legendary and a gig i will always remember. Love this band still sound amazing. Weekender has to be one of the most underrated epics.

Just brilliant. Best gig, out of hundreds, Flowered Up Cambridge Junction, Phobia tour. Sweat dripping off the ceiling where everyone was dancing. You never got a sense they were above the crowd. They loved playing and meeting people. After the gig they came out and joined in the crowd. So sad they wont be able to reform. RIP

I loved them since the early 90s. Live just down the road from the Junction and never knew they had been there. Is it possible to miss something you never had? if so, I do.

I've been to more gigs than I can remember and seen some amazing bands. I can honestly say Flowered Up, Phobia tour, Cambridge Junction is the best gig I've been to. How they engaged with crowd was perfect.
@shaunlondon18284 жыл бұрын
Same here. I've seen so much - and all of their contemporaries from the time - and genuinely nothing comes close. Liam seemed almost like John Lydon at the height of his powers, totally focused and totally meaning it. Irrespective of what that was.
