In this era there were only 2 ppl who had my respect in this conference on the opposing teams. It was troy caupain and that 5’6 dude from smu. I think his name was morris?

Butler's second half against Maryland was one of the greatest halves I've ever seen a college player have. He carried us and nearly won the game all by himself.

Im from Tampa. I was 14 years old and fell in love with this team in Tampa against Ohio State in the semis. Been a Husky ever since. Its been 25 years later and we got 6. Go Dawgs!!!

Should have had a hell of an NBA career but it didn't translate for whatever odd reason. El Amin used to do them boyz dirty on the D1 level and it really was fun to watch. I heard he took that talent overseas and it worked out for him, good to know 💯

Uconn has six now. Six in 25 years. Unbelievable program and culture they have up there in Storrs. The best basketball program since UCLA and for my money, given how much harder it is to win titles since the field expanded to 64, they're the best ever.
@RealRyanJKazАй бұрын
I think that the UConn men’s basketball team is now on the same level as its women’s program, and also should now be considered a blue-blood! (Now tied for 3rd all-time with 6 national championships!)

When Uconn has the best backcourt in the country, they win the title. This is true for all 6 chips. I am a firm believer that Kevin Ollie is the only guy that could take this team, in a crappy new conference and coming off a suspension year, to the promised land. Sure, he wasn't a great long term fit, but he was the perfect guy for this team, the only guy
@marcisikoff5 күн бұрын
Ollie was an average college player, below average NBA player, and an average coach who inherited a very good group of players.
@BlyGuy5 күн бұрын
@@marcisikoff average college players don't have 10+ year careers in the NBA. He was obviously an above average college basketball player. He inherited a group of guys with two borderline NBA players who never amounted to much in the league and solid role players during a year they were suspended from postseason play and got them all to buy-in for that season in preparation for their title run. He was very clearly connected with that group on a high level. They loved KO and played extremely hard for him. I stand by my take that KO is the only coach that takes that group to a title coming off the suspension year.

Boatright was incredible. His shotmaking. Playmaking. Defense. The way he would LEVITATE for a rebound as a small guard. Him and Napier weren’t gonna be denied a title

I was born in 91 and lived in Mansfield until 2002. Let me tell you, this dude was like a white Kobe to kids in Connecticut in the late 90s and early 2000s. We idolized this dude. Especially in Mansfield. We also looked up to the other guys on the UCONN team like; Ricky Moore, Khalid El-Amin, and Richard Hamilton, but us being white kids, Jake was our main man. It's a shame the NBA didn't utilize him properly when he went pro, great player.
