I use water-based Akua inks on the gel plates and tend to use oil-based inks on plexi.

What size of the plate are you using? Or ink type, colours? Your video needs a bit more explained details, written below or texted. Nice and lovely work!

Good tutorial! I love the look of this. BTW, instead of using paper towels you can use aged newspaper. After a few months, the print doesn't come off.

Just don't use Japanese rice paper. Mine stuck to the paint and shredded when I picked it up. Too absorbent maybe.

I was thinking about buying one of these gel plates to use with CMYK separations made with a laser printer to make prints of photographs on canvas. Do you think it would be possible? I can't see why it wouldn't. You are the only person I've found doing this with these plates. Tons of useful info in this vid. Need to watchnit again. Thanks.

How do you keep from getting roller lines? I don’t like the lines.
@melissaharshman65622 жыл бұрын
It can be tricky. Just keep going over it or use a bigger roller with large diameter to keep from getting roller marks.

This video would benefit from editing. If it's about stencils, show stencils. Viewers don't need to see every minute step, just show the general process without making us watch rolling, inking, rubbing.........................................................

Thanks for the feedback but this was for a class so I wanted to show them all the steps.

I never realised you could do this with watercolour and no press roller. Can you use thicker watercolour paper? I don't have 'Japanese' paper.
@melissaharshman65623 жыл бұрын
Sorry I didn't get back sooner. The only problem you may have with thicker watercolour paper is the texture. It might not print smoothly. I would try it and see! : )
