Mental illness is stupidity no matter who's telling the 101% truth, there's no necessity or excuse for engaging with a character like him! The old woman obviously knew him previously but couldn't stay away, therefore he killed her because he's just demented.

I missed how she would prove she wasn’t a liar by accurately counting 5,000. She originally told him it was a guess, he said she didn’t guess, she is a liar. She counts and does not get to 5,000. He then doubles down on her being her a liar. He then finds the last raisin. This should prove she lied about guessing (since SHE said she guessed). He looks impressed and regretful that he called her a liar. What did I miss as far as the logic (not the lesson)? I got understood the message and lesson.

He could have had a chocolate squirrel, kept his nuts and got a free woman into the bargain. Senile old git.

Sometimes we will not offer grace to good people when we doubt them for their earnestness. It hurts both involved only if the one sees their action. He had great remorse.

Don't ever let another person's raisins in their pants fill you with self-doubt. They both lost a potential new friend over his mistrust issue.😢

It’s not that simple. It’s true we ask so much of others. One minor thing one misunderstanding or a high expectation unmet and we cease contact.

What a great short film. The message I got from this was that that some people will seek out flaws or mistakes in others while ignoring the other person’s intent and good deeds or works. The man in the story could only focus on what he hates and not on what he likes. Only finding flaws in others leaves him a miserable lonely man.

Sooo well done!!!!! 😊. He is his own Misery, pushing away the very thing he never had, but always wanted. Became bitter, so he could not even recognize the Sunshine that came to him. I loved the lighting this film did to showcase moods.
What a strange choice to shoot it on Dartmoor UK, whilst having the actors use US accents. It’s feels way too contrived

I couldn't watch past him dropping the raisins and her starting to count them. I was already wondering how a Scottish countryside scene was hosting such an American story. It made no sense on so many levels. Others here seem to like it, which is fine. Not for me I'm afraid.
@jenniferDelamar-b2m2 ай бұрын
Clearly she shouldnt have lied. If she had just stuck to teturning the purse without lieing about the raisins, everything would have been fine, and eouldnt have had to kick her off the porch.

This is a masterpiece! Capturing truth the real liar could never see. Definitely Oscar worthy.

The old man hates two things: squirrels and liars. Is the old man beginning to let go of his hate at the very end when he gives a raisin to a squirrel? Is he going to stop holding people to impossible standards?

What a good story, unfortunately i feel like there are a lot of lonely souls out there that fear the bad side of humanity so much they never get to see the good 😢
