You are blessed with the gift of drawing! Your talent inspires me to draw more and I hope one day to be even half as good as you. I love your drawings! What is the thick pencil tool you’re using to draw with? Thank you for sharing your creativity!!! ❤

What an interesting video topic. This makes me think of all the good art habits I developed this year. Here are five: 1. Using “thin” and small sketchbooks, like you. I noticed that I love to finish things, and this motivates me to draw more. Last year, I filled around four sketchbooks; this year, it was eight. The goal was 12, but I'm not focusing on that. 2. Not drawing every day. After drawing every day from April till July (for uni class), I noticed that I REALLY don't want to. And the funny thing is… When I don't focus on drawing every day, I actually do. So... I'll allow myself to explore my other hobbies on the days I don't draw. 3. Studying other artists' work and redrawing them. It's so MUCH fun to draw other artists' art. But I never treat these pieces as my original art. I like to give credit where it's due. :) And I'm excited about all the studies I will do next year. 4. Using colors. I was always afraid to implement colors in my work because I didn't want to mess up a sketch. I discovered how much I love to draw abstract backgrounds and pair them with (sometimes) detailed portraits (of KPOP Idols...lol). 5. Treating my sketchbook as a sh*t-book (sorry for swearing). I allow my sketchbook to be messy, chaotic, ugly, or whatever. It's a safe space. Sometimes I draw really cool things, and sometimes I don't.

I actually really LOVE a small square shape sketchbook myself as well! I think this is my first time seeing another artist on KZbin (and irl) who has the same preference! one of the new goals i have set for myself is to draw daily and this was so inspirational. great job with the video!

It's the timer idea for me, some days you're just unmotivated and you know you should just do it anyway, sure the quality might be subpar, but at least you're still doing it.

Not entirely, I try to follow an idea sketch and gather multiple inspirations around it. In my current art journey I’m trying to draw elements from memory. I hope one day I make something more whimsical.

Such beautiful sketches! To tell you the truth, I do struggle with perfectionism it's especially hard when you are at the beginning of the art-making journey and those 'firsts' are far away to be even named 'good', all the lines are slowly developing to become a certain figure but I'm so impatient with myself. ;(( I hope I won't give up and still try until I will come to the 'decent' level. It should be all about fun but cause of pressure that I made upon myself I can't really start. As you said -- it's a fear of failure. Still I'm really thankful for your thoughts and art. Have a nice day! <3

Thank you for sharing, I understand how frustrating it feels. Especially those intial stages of making the piece! Keep trying. I’m sure you’ll find a process workflow and some pattern. Trusting the process is key. You’ve got this. Have a good day.

sometimes I feel like I am stuck even with daily practice. Daily practice alone will not make you better artist it is important to stop and reevaluate. Give your brain a break to settle the new info. Using limited materials is so important. there is a time to play and explore and time actually improve your skill. Constantly shifting between different materials can limit your grow.😢
