I think the best way to play speed golf is to play two balls for nine holes.I just mark my balls A and B.It makes you try to keep all your shots in the same area to save time and you don't have to run quite as much to finish in under an hour and you can take a few more seconds to plan your shots and repair your divots.I think it is also easier to implement when there are other groups on the course. When I play two balls on my par 70 nine hole course it takes me around 40 minutes. If the course is crowded it takes me about an hour and 20 minutes without running. This is the direction that golf should go.It would take at most two hours for most people like every other sport. I think four and a half hour rounds are just ridiculous and the reason why alot of people don't golf or stop playing.

Henry, please read previous comments before calling people such vulgar names. All course care is done by a volunteer crew so every divot is replaced, bunker is raked, and pitch mark fixed. Now, get off your a$% and start running!

Played CGC Golfclub Copenhagen Denmark today i 53:41 - (8 km. par72) Did´nt even have running shoes on. In a week or so, I´m planning to put on my fastest shoes and attempt to play 36 holes in max, 1:40 - By the way, I´m only playing with a 7 iron and usully score around 87-90.

Seriously this guy was putting lights out. How did he make all those long putts and then miss some of those 10 footers? This guy is pretty damn good if this is all legit.

Once you take a divot the grass there is dead. Replacing has no effect since you uprooted the turf. The best thing for it is to lay in some sand with grass seed in it which will regrow the turf in the divot. This is something the grounds crew will do early each morning.
@darrynfrost34017 жыл бұрын
Not true at all. I do that all the time manually while working on sprinkler systems and such, and the grass regrows just fine, as long as the roots don't get dried out too much.

Common complaint when people see these videos. Actually, players are responsible for their own course care... just like everyone that plays golf. In a couple tournaments, and this video, we have had volunteer crews that take care of course care.

That is insane! ;-) Great golfing!!! How did you keep yourself so perfectly centered in the frame for the video? Did you have someone chasing you with a steady-cam? It was kind of surreal/videogame looking because of how steady the chase cam was. Anyway... really cool!!

Hey, the real Speed Golf champion is Jay Larson, former world class triathlete and pro golfer. I think he is pretty much undefeated in head to head Speed Golf Competitions. Nice video though!
@HugRunner12 жыл бұрын
Not quite. It's the combination of speed and precision that counts, fast run and low scores. And that's where you miss my point. Ask yourself, is it harder to be good at 2 things or at 1 thing? I have never said these speed golfers are as good golfers as the normal ones, but if they were, it sure would be a lot more impressive, don't you agree? Also, if speed golf got more attention and money etc. wouldn't it also get the quality of both their running and golfing up? I'm pretty sure it would.
@tfrenn12 жыл бұрын
well in speed golf the idea is not who scores the lowest but gets it done the quickest if I'm correst, so you know playing to score the lowest takes a little bit more stragety don't you think
@tfrenn12 жыл бұрын
not more challenging mentally, golf is not meant to tough physically, it is a mental game although walking hilly courses and the golf swing itself does take some athletic ability and coordination, you can't judge the mental toughness of a sport based on how much physical endurance it takes to play cause then if thats the case MMA and boxing would put basketball and what other major american sport to shame, so according to your opinion cage fighting is the most hardest complete sport.

@EvilConCarne12 жыл бұрын
Well if speed golf is so much harder than real golf, these guys wouldn't have a problem on tour huh? Let me answer that for you, they would be fucking demolished on tournament level greens. You cant really say that speed golf is more difficult, they would be crushed on real greens and fairways that are in tip top shape. Even the amateurs would fucking crush these no names. Don't ever say that this running competition is more difficult than real golf.
@HugRunner12 жыл бұрын
And where did I say normal golf was easy? I just said that they don't need the endurance or athletic ability. "Breaking a sweat" can mean different things. I mean, a poker player could "break a sweat", but I was originally referring to how they do not physically challenge themselves in normal golf, compared to the speed golf. I can promise you that most endurance sports are _much_ more challenging physically and mentally than golf. But that doesn't make golf easy, still gotta practice _a lot_.
@EvilConCarne12 жыл бұрын
YOu must be fucking stupid. If you think golf is so easy, then go out and win some tournaments. Ooh, wait, thats right, golf is fucking hard to play. How about you go fuck yourself ok buddy?
@HugRunner12 жыл бұрын
This is awesome. Why isn't normal golf like this? Ooh, wait, you make huge money without breaking a sweat, have someone else tell you what to do and you lack athletic abilities; hmm, guess we know why.
@bwotwbianlw13 жыл бұрын
how do you practice for this with other people on the course? do you just make sure you're the first tee time every morning?
