He did the wrong thing. But I think its a lot easier to say what someone should have done, not being in their shoes. He obviously didnt have the skills to run the company and made some major mistakes. Not saying what he did is right but dude everyone is crucifying him for it. Cant imagine I would be in a good mental state if I was in his shoes, probably would have said something sooner though to be fair... Companies do far worse shit to employees.

My one weird flex is that i've actually been watching the modern rogue channel since it first started. I stopped watching it around 2021 for no particular reason, however I came back in 2023 and thought it felt 'different'. Then, after hearing Jason was stepping away from the show, I was quite upset, and thought something very serious had happened that meant he didn't want to do it anymore. I read some of his Reddit & Instagram stuff on why, and thought that his reasons were very valid, but also thought there was more he wasn't telling us. However after watching the "Where Is Jason" video and reading some of the comments, it's pretty sad and annoying the way that the REAL reason for him leaving was kept under wraps for a couple months, and made out to be a 'minor issue'. Also pretty pissed off with the way it was handled, and made to look like it was an issue that lied solely on him. Definitely don't think i'll be watching MR any more, however I wish the best for all involved in it. Thank you for the years of entertainment.

Drilk is actually good as an ice cream soda float. Not as a just milk and soda mixed beverage. Ice cream and cola float is a great alternative to root beer. Of course Dr Pepper is delicious as well. Maybe it melts and all that's left is soda and milk (cream), and sure as hell I'll drink it with a smile.

I dunno Brian- the whole situation seems like you were doing a whole LOT of lying ..in an effort to not have to admit that you'd driven something so special straight into the ground. Your drive for more made you ignore the warning signs that things were getting out of control and your ego doesn't allow you to admit the mistakes you made. MR was such a good thing, it's sad it's dead.

*For those that stumble on to this looking for an explanation behind the shift at the Modern Rogue, I've added some timestamps. I recommend watching the whole podcast as I think it's a pretty decent peek behind the curtain, but I've included some time stamps that pertain specifically to the MR timeline below.* Also, to those that seem to be suggesting Brian obfuscated the money issues existing in the business, he said that in early 2021 that they were expanding, hiring, and ramping up to capitalize on the online boom mid pandemic. Meanwhile, a few months later things were suddenly eroding under their feet. This is a common entrepreneurial misstep that can literally happen to anybody, and frankly happened to a lot of people over the pandemic. I had a friend that was an event photographer for large trade shows, award shows, conferences, and other events, making 6+ figures a year have his entire business evaporate in the span of a couple of months. Not to mention countless gyms, restaurants, hotels, etc. all struggled to make ends meet. I think in this case over committing finances to building the MRHQ with an expectation that the growth was going to be exponential, and the unfortunate lack of ability/desire to sell the property and downsize in order to maintain the core of MRHQ staff lead to a downturn in the ability to sustain itself. As someone who was happy with 4 guys, 3 cameras, and a bunch of funny sh*t in a warehouse, I miss what was. I definitely understand the desire to shoot for the moon and the ever growing need to do more, but chemistry can't be bought, built, or borrowed, it just is. Here's hoping everyone lands on their feet, and hoping that when the dust settles there's some room for Jason to do some part time Rogueing on the channel (excited for the super secret future collaboration). Timeline: 1:19:05 - 2021 Big online boom investing in expanding, hiring, and ramping up production 1:19:34 - 2021 August looks like tide is starting to recede, didn't make a big deal of it, but paid attention to it 1:19:49 - 2021 November/December have a meeting with the team to discuss the receding tide and that money is getting tighter with mixed reactions 1:20:25 - 2022 Increasingly louder warnings to team about progressively worse money problems lead to increases in doubling down from staff (both productive and destructive) 1:21:10 - 2022 August "The Reckoning" - Daily vomiting, business hits bottom and Brian had to "let everyone go" 55:56 - 2022 "White Knuckle Phase" Those who want to try and ride it out and help right the ship stay and those who need/want to move on left 1:23:28 - 2022 Q3/Q4 Quietly trying to push forward with minimum viable products and low production costs (Podcasts/Shorts/Store) 1:23:42 - 2022 Q4 People move closer/into MRHQ to try and help the business succeed by being more available 1:25:00 - 2023 Things come to a head where those that were trying to hold on had to give up and move on 1:26:14 - 2023 Store does it's worst year in sales in the past decade and has main staff turnover (adding complication to running the store and one of the 3 minimum viable products)

So I first watched this a while ago, and I'm returning to it now. It blows my mind that Brian doesn't realize, he owes a life debt to all the people that he kicked out of modern rogue without paying them too. The time that he spent 'healing' with the rogue compound a company town, that is time that his employees could have been healing. That is time that he should have immediately liquidated the compound and made his employees whole or as close to holes they ever could be. I can't focus on how disgusting this is enough. I grew up watching Brian, and watching him make this all about himself is so despicable.

This and the recent “Where is Jason?” video feels like they’re talking about 2 vastly different things. To obfuscate and obstruct this much more grim reality in a 93 minute podcast is outrageous. I saw Jason’s Reddit post. I saw a direct quote… but the show must go on, or at least that’s what Brian thinks.

@ModernRogue it is so fucked up that you were willing to tell the truth here, where it was relatively hidden, just to get it off your chest instead of being upfront and honest with the MR audience. it's like you know how bad you fucked over everyone working on MR and how bad you would look if you couldn't sugarcoat it to the fans you repeatedly begged for money. for shame.

This. This whole speech should of been done on MR and about a year earlier then it was. Only way i learned about his explanation is from people in the comments talking about this video. His ability to dance around the problem is what lead to this.
@InfernalBanana
@InfernalBanana 4 күн бұрын
@@epicray8434my thoughts exactly. I learned about it before the “Where’s Jason” video, but I only learned about it because someone posted a timestamp to this in the MR subreddit. He’s swept everything under the rug, silenced Jason whenever he tried giving his side of the story, and gave conflicting stories, sugar coating everything to the fans who wanted to know the most what was going on and where Jason went. I honestly hope Brian implodes at this point, because I and a lot of OG Rogues have lost any and all respect we had for him.

"Everyone going thru stress says the same thing" Brother, you aint kidding. Every time ive been under stress and had a panic attack I've thought "ya know, ive felt this 100s of times and its always just anxiety but this one, this one is it. Im dead." And then the fear of death becomes a constant feed for the panic. Its wild how little control we can suddenly have over the way our bodies behave.
