Hi, thanks so much for this - really helpful! Did you by any chnace get around to demonstrating the forecast fun with bi-linear interpolation? I can't find a usable source demostrating the forecast with bi-linear interpolation with excel. Work task: I am trying to look up the Coefficienct of Performance (CoP) for air source heat pumps from manufacturers data table with the CoP dependent upon the X=flow rate, Y=ambient temperature . Basically, it's the same format as the cpt roof pressure coefficient. I have a large table of monitoring data from an installed heat pump and have for a X's and Y's and need to find the (CoP) for each timestep. This is for an MSc thesis. Any help would be sincerely appreciated. Thanks, Paul

@@learn-structural I did it with Forecast, but if there is an exact match on the lookup table I get a divide by zero error. I guess to get around this you could check to for that scenario first but that makes a very long formula even longer.

I saw projects where the class soil type is "M", then proceed to pier system. When can I use the raft slab design prescribed by the code and not use pier. And if I use pier, do I consider the entire slab/grade beam to be suspended? Appreciate your reply.

Thank you for your response. The approach described in Appendix H involves designing the slab for a higher mound height to account for the effect of the tree. For instance, an M site typically has a ys value between 20mm and 40mm. If we assume a value of 40mm, we then design the slab with a center heave mound height of ym = 0.7(40) + yt. Additionally, we must ensure that the moment capacity, Mu, in center heave is at least 1.5 times Mcr (hogging), and in edge heave, Mu should be at least 1.5 times Mcr (sagging). In this series, we aim to present real-life examples of using both this code method and the Victorian method.

Hi, thanks for these videos and the explanations of some of the theory & worked examples provided within the code. I'm a junior engineer working in Victoria and found many of these videos very helpful. Would you consider explaining some of the theory behind controlled fill design, or a slab-on-fill in the future? Were there any other references that you'd recommend that delve a bit more into the design of residential footings, tree effects, soil interactions etc? Regardless, I look forward to the rest of this series!
