Thanks a lot, Michael. I recently did similar tests with Cloudflare stream and their WHIP server. This are exciting tools for me. Looking forward to watching your next videos.

Thank you for this. I had NO idea this could be done. Doing some vMix SRT research and came across you! This will help so much! Sometimes I have issues with NDI but now using SRT to communicate... this opens up sooooooooo many options. Tha ks man! Officially subscriber 614 😊

Hi, i downloaded the tool and after installation it starts up. But all the NDI sources don't show up to select. Do you might know were i am going wrong. Thanks!
@tvguy2 Жыл бұрын
If you are not using multicast, NDI sources should auto discover using the mDNS service. You should start by installing the fee NDI tools package, then use studio monitor to see available sources. If NDI sources are missing in studio monitor, then there is something on the network blocking mDNS traffic, many WiFi access points will do this by default.

Very helpful, and skillfully made easy! Just trying to force all of my ever expanding home NDI sources over my 10 Gbe multimode network, and running a discovery server on the final encoder/recorder/streamer box has been a challenge. My production vMix switcher has 2 ethernet, and one SFP+ network, and a mind of its own!
@tvguy211 ай бұрын
It’s all about routing and subnets, and unfortunately NDI doesn’t make it easy. With NDI 5 you can at least set a preferred interface.

The Black-Level Scope was requested by a colleague of mine. He needs to match the black-level of multiple cameras and this scope is just a zoomed-in version of the RGB-Waveform that helps setting the black-levels of the camera to a uniform value. You can also see if the blacks are slightly shifted towards a certain color and correct for this.

Thanks for building it! I needed something like this for a while. Also, the black level display makes a lot more sense. Potential feature request, a jitter scope to monitor incoming frame timing over a specific duration.

Hi, thanks for the tutorials. Can SRT work when OBS and Vmix computers are on different networks?
@tvguy22 жыл бұрын
Yes it can. If the machine is behind a firewall, you will need to forward the proper port to the listener machine on your router.

thanks, got it running in less than the video lenght. would have never thought of searching SDK for the discovery service. i mean seriously what is NDI thinking. at the very least you would expect it either seperate download or within tools asside from i cant think of a reason why its needed in the first place. and if we go this route why not a windows service.....argh... imagine building a professional envoiroment like this, with random shells scrit started resposible for connectivity.... jeeez

I wish you would explain how to do the port forwarding and that side of you seeing SRT. Getting your public IP address. I have Google Fiber and no real router to speak of. It is a mesh and apparently the port forwarding is on my phone. If you can point me in the right direction I would really appreciate it. Thank you for your video.

Did you do the other way around? Streaming from vMix to OBS?
@tvguy22 жыл бұрын
Yes you can. Turn on SRT ouptut in vMix, and set to "Caller" with the IP of your vMix machine. In OBS > Add a "Media Source", uncheck "local file" and set enter this for the source: "srt://%ip:%port%?mode-listener'" Change IP and Port to your OBS machine, and you can receive an SRT feed. You'll need to forward the port through your firewall to your OBS machine.

@tvguy22 жыл бұрын
i'm using Teradici Remote desktop software with my AWS instances. Automatically passes the default system microphone to remote device
@marshall4092 жыл бұрын
@@tvguy2 Nice. That works well for director mic, but a lot of my productions involve virtual audio cables and routing in/out of other programs, something that I can't seem to figure out how to do on a remote instance.
@tvguy22 жыл бұрын
@@marshall409 VB-audio cable works well on a remote machine, we use it all the time. However, our preferred method of routing audio around in the cloud is NDI.
