I love thrifting, especially high end and vintage. Quality is so much better than a lot of the new offerings. I buy classics, they will last me 10+ years.

Been thrifting for over 33 years, so most of my house is thrifted. Up until recently almost everything my 15 year old son wore was also thrifted. Just got him an amazing leather jacket for twenty dollars. I adore all the declutter people, lol. Couple months ago got a super heavy solid oak table with pedestal legs that seats eight for $24. Scrolled edges, carved feet and I had to travel about 30 minutes to get it and she was shocked I traveled so long, um what???

Another tip is thrift for pieces in the off season, the best silk and linen finds I’ve had are almost exclusively in the winter months!

You were lucky with your sofa. You really have to check things out. I would be Leary of a sofa listed for free. The sprigs could be worn out, something could have spilled, staining.

I probably have everyone beat when it comes to being Second Hand Rose. I have a 3 bdrm house down south and everything in it is second hand other than 1 flr lamp & the mattresses. Also have an apartment up north where it's pretty much the same deal, except I once splurged on a new couch...which did NOT hold up. Now I have to pay to get rid of it! I have original art work bought at auctions and thrift stores. I rent out both properties when I am not staying in them, so the furnishings are not shabby. The quality of older furnishings are invariably better than newer. I have been doing this all my adult life. It's a game of treasure hunting. Very satisfying to know how much money you've saved. Have done so to a lesser extent with clothes and like to plant swap whenever possible.

I also love thrifted items. They don't make furniture like they used to and love the soul they add to the house. I'm in the process of furnishing my own 87 year old home and can't wait to spend time on the hunt! Love the color of the walls in your dining room. Can you say what color/paint manuf it is? I'll look at your old videos, too, to see if you revealed it there. Just found your channel!

Restore use to be a wonderful place to shop here in the Chicago area however , in the past 6-7 years their prices are much too high . Your entertainment piece would likely go for $100 or more. I love their mission. Great video ! Thanks

So many beautiful items you've found. I rent a house that was built in 1930 and my landlord gave me the dining table and chairs that came with the house and a side board as well. Love how old items have a history, as do old houses. They have a soul that new houses just don't have. Most of my belongings are second hand, and i love it. Would always rather have a pre loved item then a brand new one.

Greetings from a new subscriber on the Northumberland coast in North East England. What a great video! Everything in my home is thrifted, and I get so many compliments on how beautiful and stylish it is, and all on a shoestring. Isn't it great to have a home full of things that no one else has? And hunting for them is the best bit - you just never know what treasures you will find. I am now off to binge watch your videos. Clara x

Probably 80 percent of my home is thrifted too and I am so pleased about it! I love old homes, they just don't build them like that anymore. That free couch was really an awesome find, it looks like new. I am so happy that so many young women are getting into thrifted and antique finds, I am an antique as well (70) LOL. You are adorable and you have the most beautiful eyes.

I love the Restore! I’ve bought furniture and fixtures for my 95 year old home. I have a 1931 bungalow, that I’ve lovingly restored. My dining room set was free, given to me by a neighbor that was moving across country. So, yes, buying and sourcing preloved, vintage, and antique pieces, gives our homes character. I just found your station and I’m so happy to see a young woman that loves old things! I’m 65, an owner of 3 cats, and many vintage and antique things. Forty years ago, my husband and I were cleaning out his mother’s garage. I found a 1921 Singer sewing machine, in the oak cabinet. It was totally black including the gold leaf. I restored that machine, the cabinet , and the gold leaf to its original beauty. It sits in my living room, a focal point of amazing beauty.

I love how much you love your second hand treasures! The vast majority of my home is filled with thrift finds (furnishings, definitely decor, and clothes), but my all time favourte item is a vintage Primus 2 burner camping stove that I found for $10! It's from the 60s, so it's beyond cute and works like a dream. Primus is a high end camping stove company from Sweden that is still operating today after over 130 years. My favourite inherited piece is a turn of the century vanity that my Grandfather purchased for my Grandmother at auction shortly after they were married in the 50's. It's beyond gorgeous and is now my nightstand.

Great job protecting the yarn from the cat, and the cat from the yarn. I can tell you from experience that a cat can grab yarn and swallow it in the blink of an eye, and it's an expensive surgery to deal with. I have a similar sewing/knitting thing, but yours is prettier. Mine looks like it's from the 70s and came from my grandmother. They're very useful.

Oh my goodness... I have had the most heartbreaking and painful year of my life, due to a choice I did not make. Needless to say, there have been and obviously will continue to be major changes in my life... Tremendous plot twists. When you popped up into my feed this morning and I watched this video, I feel completely in a different mind space than I have for the last year. It's taking me a year to get where I am today and everything you said in this video, hit me straight in my heart. I am so excited to follow along with you on your journey. Furthermore, you are exceptional on camera, as well as the way you film, edit etc. I just feel like I've been given a gift in this new year. Happy New Year to you and congratulations on this new venture of yours. XO
