Dr. Wu’s talk is so interesting and cool!

It is the Yang Shen knowledge that we have in TCM that differentiates BAcC members from short course trained acupuncturists and dry needling. It is the Yang Shen and balance of Yin and Yang that the NHS needs more than anything! I have said for years, if the NHS did a simple awareness campaign with patients and staff on the importance of drinking water, not tea, not coffee, water in higher quantities, it would save the NHS £billions in wasted treatments and medications. 🙂

thanks for spending time to convey this wonderfully broad vision of the BAcC's functions and position. I'm pleased to know that you have the capacity encompass so many aspects, avoiding the trap of focussing on just one or two hobby-horse issues.

It's true that Menghe is not a good example of a lineage, it's more like a geographical grouping, but this doesn't mean there aren't any true lineages in China. Check out the Lu lineage of Sichuan who are central to the Fire Spirit school. I've read four generations of their case studies and they have a high degree of similarity, but with subtle refinement and expansion from generation to generation. Even the Hu Xishu lineage looks quite similar at the third generation and are now teaching the fourth generation with a high degree of discipline. Another small correction: Cao Yingfu actually had very small dosages. If you look through his case studies, 9g of guizhi is considered a high dose for him...

volker mentions the "seminal lectures of john shen on the late '80's" - just wanted to flag that I made an audio recording of these john shen sessions.

Great interview. Important ground covered. Should be required listening for all Chinese Medicine students. As a side note, I am trying to lead the replacement of the saying: "Kill two birds with one stone" with "Feed two birds with one scone."
