So I accidentally fall into your description of a 'ricer'. The reasons for this are a few things. I love Japanese cars and just japanese culture in general, so naturally I love hondas, toyotas, nissans, Mitsubishis, subarus, etc. I currently have a 1998 6th gen cg honda accord that came straight piped with titanium headers, yes it is a 5 speed, I put a stage 2 clutch in it for better response and so I can shift a little quicker plus you can beat the heck out of it. It already had stickers on it, and I want my own stickers because let's face it I love this car and want to decorate it and show some personality. You mentioned in your video that money doesn't buy skill, especially when you're driving a heavy ish front wheel drive 90s mid sized sedan as fast as you can on private roads, the body weight alone can get away from you if you're not careful or cant feel the smallest body movements. I don't intend for this car to be a 'race' car, but I do Intend to swap an h22a in it which would be a considerable power to weight upgrade, plus it'll be cheaper for me since it'll bolt right up to the stock tranny as the preludes and accords of this generation share transmissions. We're talking at least a 100hp increase, and most of my mods to make it run more efficiently and get the most out of its stock power will work and help. Yes my intake is actually pulling cold air I made sure of it and no it's not short rammed. Also the stock motor which is an f23a1 is sohc vtec whereas the h22a is dohc vtec so thats a considerable upgrade. As they say, it depends on the driver, but the idiots give us a bad name. The thing is, I think a lot of people end up in my shoes because like me they grow up loving cars and wanting to drive the crap out of them long before they get their license, but lack the daddies money to freely modify their car. You gotta work near sleepless nights and a ton of hours these days in most states (u.s.a) to even have a chance of saving enough to make your project turn out the way you imagine it to be. I realise my car is no track car, yet, but I love it for what it is and as a young guy I appreciate the little things about it. I'll be 26 this year and it just recently hit 200k miles. The car is as old as me! Chances are the person who made this was prolly born in the 00s .... if you were ever in the scene in 2000 not born in 2000 you would understand bodykits and show cars were the trend ..and who really cares as long as whoever is driving the car likes there car that's all that matters in my opinion .... random carbon fiber parts, loud ass exhaust on a less than 200 hp engine, a noncohesive body kit, unnecessary camber when you dont even do track days, rims that match nothing ALL paired with an inability to drive = ricer. that body at 3:00 was actually super clean, though i would never want to own it. rims matched the white stripe and a fully contrasted top and bottom paint, clean dual tip exhaust. It looked better than half the cars in the 40 seconds before it.
