Wow, Dr. Story, your career path is incredible! I can't believe you've done so many different things, from sales to working in construction to teaching. It sounds like all of those experiences have helped you to become a well-rounded business consultant. I am a 'Kohai' consultant, and look up to you with full respect for all the dedication to daily content you are creating for the world of Business (with Japan).

Today, I have been working on building my business plan and incorporate the functions of each department and aligning them with the purpose, vision and mission statement of the business. It is my first business plan so I am looking for all information that will help me in this endeavor. I have always been a technology person and as a result I am exploring my abilities and applying them to the business and software development. Utilizing AI programs to help me move from planning into immediate action is the reason for this. Currently, I have the problem of not prioritizing activities. I try to "work on my business not in my business" as he mentioned in one episode but I do not know if I am doing it right but I know it will help me save time and be more productive, effective as a result of automatization and efficiency. I procrastinate because I have a long day of work due to the departments that require my time from a 21 hour work day that moved to 22 hours. At this point, I am trying to get 4 hours minimum of sleep but the problem I face is that due to the length of my work day, I have alot of free time which is an incentive to procrastinate and do not do any work related activities. The solution I think it to be 100 % occupied with activities that are urgent and important which i must master as I HAVE ALWAYS LEFT the most important things for last. Its hard but its doable. I would like to know more about learning from mistakes so change can be made as in this episode which I will listen couple of times.

I am very glad that I stumbled upon this video. I am currently very interested in working for / studying with Dräger. One reason why I do find Dräger especially interesting is that they are also present in Japan. Now here I go looking into Dräger and I find a great interview of one of their representatives in Japan and with it I find and absolute gem of a channel. I mean how come that there aren´t more people watching these interviews of top level managers and their managing styles? Sure its not very condensed and thus does take some time to watch but its great non the less. Thank you very much!

No risk no return. Why do they choose not to take them Story Sensei? Is it laziness, plain old expediency, tall poppy syndrome or something else? We know how good they are at taking risks on the tatami mats in kumite, so what gives mate? Digging the video format. Inspirational professionalism! Also remember Fukuoka APUKO 1989! Love your work Sensei and Osu!

For people who are in sales and have selected hearing and only look to get the desired result from people and if not, they lose interest in them, what should they do to create a business? How should they operate? What kind of people should they use for business networking?

Great Interview. Robert’s story and way of telling it never fail to inform and inspire. So many memorable one-liners and his definition of leadership at the end was insightful and well crafted particularly given his experience of building a company not only in Japan but building it the Japanese way despite being a brash kid from Chicago! Thanks, Greg for having him on!

Thank you gentlemen for a view into a unique world. Employee satisfaction surveys every two years. No hard guidelines for business trip expenses. CEO letters and new products seasonal gifts to the parents of the 10,000 employees. Change is slow and there isn't a strong push to change faster. A different world than the quarterly KPI-driven, MBO or Private Equity-led world that is much of the modern packaged food business in the West. As someone who would like to sell more software to food companies in Japan, the catchy American pitch "I could get you a nice discount if we can close this quarter" would be like speaking Martian to this company. In fact I'm not sure the timelines would ever line up.
