This music is really nice, pleasant. So much music today hurts my ears.

@retro-minor-speakers thank you friend. I bought JVC/Victor FS-SD7R unit just recently online. Have you heard this unit? I also have JVC/Victor UX D88 too, I bought last year. It is really nice mini hifi, I recommend.

@@AlexMitchell-sj4sb Hello. I have never heard the former, but I once owned the UX-MD1, a Japanese-only model that is almost identical to the latter, so I know it well. Although it was small, the opposing woofer units were effective. There are many interesting and ambitious models from Victor JVC at that time.
@AlexMitchell-sj4sbАй бұрын
@retro-minor-speakers yes, I looked it up and Victor UX MD1 is the same as the UX D88 except it has Minidisc. I paired my UX D88 with some better speakers, some Mission 760, and it sounds much better. I wasn't too keen on the speakers that came with the system. The FS-SD7R unit arrived and it is superb. It has great FM radio reception quality and sounds good as a standalone unit but when plugged into a Rotel RX 203 and Mission 760 speakers and used just as a CD player, this unit really is something great!

Natural sound, very enjoyable! Where do you buy all these interesting speakers? Do you keep them or sell them again?
@retro-minor-speakers4 ай бұрын
Good evening. The tone is gentle on the ears. I buy old speakers, including this one, on Yahoo! Auctions. However, this COLUMBIA speaker is very rare and hardly ever found even in Japan. Since it was made in 1965 and is large, there are probably less than 50 sets left, I think. So, I plan to use these speakers carefully until they give up their power.
@AlexMitchell-sj4sb4 ай бұрын
@@retro-minor-speakers definitely one to keep then.
Compared to modern speakers, there is a dull side, but anyway, the sound is energetic. Recently, the number of models with this kind of sound has decreased, so I feel that it is becoming even more attractive.

I like the sound of these so I just bought some in ebay. Same model, the UX T150H. Sold under the JVC name here in UK. These sound very good for a little full range speaker.

As expected, not only for me as a Japan, but also for you living in the UK, it's a passing score, isn't it? This full-range model is small, but the sound is imposing, and it is very complete with a wide range without muddy. It's not a high-end model by any means, but it's a much more hi-fi tone than a self-made model that failed to spend money on it. By the way, I like England very much. I also went to Tower Bridge and Big Ben in London, and during the summer vacation when I was a student, I studied abroad at Eton for a short summer period. When I have time, I would like to go on a leisurely trip again. Thanks for your nice comment Mr./Ms. from far away England.

@@retro-minor-speakers oh yes, the speakers. I bought last night from ebay after watching this video. Normally I pass on speakers from micro systems but JVC is something special, even into late 90s. I have never had a JVC audio product that disappointed me. I have a JVC UX D88 mini system downstairs with some Denon/Mission SC M50 speakers hooked up to it. I replaced the belts on the cassette deck part and it works great now and can listen to cassettes on it. I paid just £24 for the speakers and that includes postage too. That is 4,880 in Japanese Yen.

Hitachi gear is so great from 1970s and 80s! Greetings from UK
@retro-minor-speakers4 ай бұрын
Hitachi has now withdrawn from the audio industry, but I have the impression that many of its products were well designed. It is very sad that the audio industry in Japan is now only vibrant with SONY and YAMAHA. Because of this, I am very grateful to people overseas who still understand the value of Japan's audio products in the past, like you.

@@retro-minor-speakers I love Hitachi audio gear, I own an Hitachi SR 2000 receiver from 1981 and an Hitachi HTA 7000 receiver from 1980. Both have great build quality and audio quality. They both work well. A testament to the fine build quality and engineering of Japan audio products of the 1970s, 80s and 90s. Yes unfortunately Hitachi only seem to make trains and digging machinery/excavators now. They don't even make TVs anymore. The last Hitachi hifi system I could find any info on was a mini system from 2008. I think they made micro and mini hi-fi systems into the 2000s but they seemed to stop making separate speakers, amplifiers,receivers and CD players some time in the late 1980s. I am just grateful I own two pieces of technology from this amazing company. They are not valued enough by the hi-fi community but the people who do know about Hitachi hi-fi and audio products know that they are good and are of great value.

@@AlexMitchell-sj4sb Good evening from Japan at night. You're right. The models I introduce from the 1960s ~ 1970s are all minor models in Japan, and even in Japan there are few existing models. However, as you said, when it comes to these model years of the 1980s, I think there are still many of them in existence. The S-EX2 also had a bright and refreshing tone.
若干チャカチャカ感がありヤンチャな感じがしますが、音自体は柔らかめでユニットも補正ネットワークもない直結フルレンジの割に分離も良く、廉価モデルにしては箱もバスレフポートもユニットも結構作り込まれている印象でした。 当時はこのクラスでも当たり前のようにユニットもMADE IN JAPAN。 何故かこの曲を聴くとWALKMAN全盛期のSONYも一緒に連想されて、なおさらこのスピーカーと相性もよく感じてしまいます(笑)
