Houston Rockets need to stop being so slow to get people we really need out of free agent. We need some veterans that can really score and play defense. If we have the money get off of it.

Maybe one or two more years, but if the Astros went through a small period of rebuilding and get back to winning in a few years, it would be like the dynasty never left. Some dynasties are two decades (Spurs, Patriots) when you think about it in hindsight.

And this why Seth is the Man… oline was decimated! Plus, imo the defense played way above talent level… which is why I’m excited about this year. DeMeco recognized and focused on d. Period.

Stroud was drafted by the worst team in football and was the day 1 starter. His leadership changed the national perception of the Texans. Players from other teams have been asking the Texans to pick them up because they want to play with Stroud. He has stats PLUS charisma. Love is a great player. Stroud is a great man.

This whole discussion of “buying futures back” all materialized from the once ridiculed James Harden trade in 2021 ironically enough. It’s crazy how Stone set the precedent of acquiring team’s FUTURES (in terms of length of time owning draft capital) in exchange for star players

Astros need to be buyers and return to the model that made them a dynasty. MLB might have made them a the sacrificial lamb while turning a blind eye to NY and LA, but the Astros formula works.

Reed is the best prospect in '24. The knock on him is always either he's only 6-2 or his defense lacks. The same arguments were used for Maxey as he fell to 21st. Reed was way more efficient than Maxey in his one year of college and also had substantially more rebounds, assists, blocks and steals. And there comparison of offensive efficiency between Reed, Sarr and Risacher are revealing. Sarr lacks vision and often looks lost on both ends of the court. Risacher has tunnel vision on offense while hunting perimeter shots (at a poor efficiency) and avoiding contact like it's Covid. If I were building a team, efficiency would be paramount! Why do GMs constantly place such importance on athletic upside and height?

Sam Presti, the OG of building through the draft, thinks this is a great draft. Group think is a real, social phenomenon. If you don't know who eight of the top ten players are in this draft, you probably shouldn't be doing a show on it. The only thing you said of worth is that Reed Sheppard is the correct pick for the Rockets. Dalton Knecht should be good too.
