Not having ever registered in SC shouldn't be an issue. A SC title with your name printed on the front and a BOS would be helpful to transfer title to NC and register in NC. My suggestion would be to take your SC title, BOS along with proof of vehicle insurance (such as your tow vehicle insurance deck page or insurance card), your ID and ability to pay. They will be able to inform you if any additional information or documentation would be needed based on your specific circumstance. If you have a BOS but no title, no MCO or have an open title they would probably issue additional forms you would submit to and have completed by a NCDMV License & Theft Officer. You would need to schedule an appointment to visit a License and Theft officer (usually separate from a NC Tag Office). Your local tag office would be able to provide you the closest license and theft Office contact information. The officer would perform their due diligence such as determining the vehicle is not stolen, before completing the forms that you would then take back to the tag office. The tag office would then be able to title and register the trailer.
