For the past few years, Metro Line trains have only gone to Health Sciences. The reason being is that Capital Line trains (6 minute frequency during peak hours) already go to Century Park and having both trains travel all the way there would be unnecessary. -Transit Emperor

I want to know. What is it? What is an owl bus?
@TransitEmperor477413 күн бұрын
@@Rick-C-117 OWL is the official name of overnight routes operated by Edmonton Transit. Routes 2 and 9 continue into the night as the 2-OWL and the 9-OWL until about 3:30AM daily. Routes 4, 8 and 511 also operate during that time, but they don't have that branding for some odd reason.

The 511 does say owl on the destination sign following the number. I have tons of pictures of buses as I’ve always been interested in them. I don’t know why haha. It’s just the 4 and the 8 that don’t have it. I’m also a bit puzzled by that.
@TransitEmperor477411 күн бұрын
@@roberthall9061 Oh yes, my mistake! The 511 does display OWL on the sign. Maybe they didn't want to install more codes in the destination signs, hence the deal with the 4 and 8? Or perhaps it wouldn't fit on the sign?

@TransitEmperor477414 күн бұрын
Hi John! Transit in small towns and rural areas is a great idea. I'd suggest service options like On Demand or Dial a Bus style operations since a fixed route service would be too costly, especially considering ridership on a fixed route outside of large cities would most likely not get enough fare revenue to continue for very long. Still, I like the way you think! -Transit Emperor

Interesting that they removed the bike rack off the 747 bus #7152. I guess because Edmonton's bike racks are not designed for use on the highways. Same for the Leduc Transit bus.
@TransitEmperor477429 күн бұрын
You are correct. ETS and Leduc Transit realized that there is no point in installing bike racks on the 747 and Leduc buses if they're only going to run on those specific routes exclusively. Although the airport buses can be found on other routes in Edmonton, it is quite rare.
