True. A very slight descending blow, while not optimal, will only make a small difference to distance.

Peter your spot on I've practise this all week and treated my stableford comp today as test for it and this does generate speed if you time it , 230-240 metres off tee still had couple of early extensions where I let that right knee go but I know when I hit real bad shot now that this is the cause as everything else is tension free and moving as one 7 handicap , end result today 34 points 79 off stick pretty happy

I've found this movement really helped my swing. Eventually, I found my personal tempo, like throwing a ball, by increasing my backswing speed. My backswing was too slow, which interfered with my bodies continuous and natural transfer of pressure in the lower body (I would tend to lay back on my right side), A faster backswing vs. low and slow, for example, gives me the sensation of having extra time and space during transition to gather the club and hit it with as much speed as I can muster. Great results! Thanks!

Peter, I have watched seven videos this am concerning elbows in the golf swing. You advise contradicts all the others. Their contention is most amateurs allow their elbows to separate during the swing.
@PeterKnightGolf28 күн бұрын
That’s true. In my experience the majority allow their elbows to move apart rather than staying a similar distance apart during the swing.

I find that I fight the tendency to bend my left wrist back when i try to take too long of a backswing. Forcing too much rotation with my arms seems to strain my left wrist and force that action. Should note that i dont intentionally extend my back swing. Its just something that happens because im a hacker!

Had a lesson the coach didn't pick up on my cupping at impact, he forced me to use a stronger uncomfortable grip. My driving still sliced regardless.

It could be either swing path is outside to in, or open clubface at impact. Could also be both. Strengthening your grip won’t necessarily affect swing path.

Quick question please - is swing speed basically generated by the wrists
@PeterKnightGolf2 ай бұрын
The speed comes from your arms. The momentum is transferred via the wrists to the clubhead. So the role of the wrists is largely passive. I’ve created a video which will be released in the next couple of weeks which demonstrates this.
