Did you remove a couple pieces off the New valve when you removed the screws before installing?

Nicely done i had to do one of these yesterday had the same issue the galvanized barb adapter blew a hole in it I ended up doing the same replacing the whole unit as the home owner didnt want to have to deal with this again so i did the same and installed it in all brass fittings only thing different was the well casing for me was 48" across so i had to drop my ladder down and disconnect down in the well.

I cannot thank you enough. This information was exactly what I needed! Also, I think one indication of this particular problem is when the valve starts turning along with the housing when you replace a filter. Not 100% sure, but it was something I noticed in mine.

Thank you for sharing this, I really am clear on these types of joints now. I am not a licensed plumber but have made many repairs. Lately as of yesterday, I removed Oakham and lead but could not remove center cleanout hub. I was afraid to hammer too hard and break bell. Any suggestions? I just went with a fernco connection instead.

What do you recommend if all the issues are the same (oil making it to the pump but not being supplied to the burner) but the bleeder is slowly dripping oil (no air) rather than flowing out when the system is running?

one thing you left out or do not know to do to save time...if using the same type and brand of "guts" use the old to measure the length of the new.

I replaced my filter cartridge today and discovered a major leak. This video was perfect advice to tighten up the set screw which was loose as suspected. 🎉 Thank you ! You saved me money and also got the house water back on asap!

You could have saved like 20 mins if you reused the pump cap, suntec and the Becketts are the same size, not the new new Beckett A pumps tho.

I have the same issue going on right now and your video has assisted me greatly. I never pulled a jet pump double pipe assembly and your video gave me a lot of insight on what to expect. I was wondering though, the top fitting with those 2 o-rings...how does that hook up to the lines from the jet pump. Does it slide into a special deal and seals?

Please enlighten me as an apprentice, how did the hot lead not melt through the PVC? I see that it worked but how does that not melt through the plastic and make the PVC weak?

Good vid. I have an old bladderless tank. It only takes about 20 seconds for the tank to refill, so I'm thinking it needs a recharge.
@junkemails5050

Ok so you could try get those rubber clamps for one side being in pvc and the other side being for the over the cast iron bell part of the tee. You can still fit the pvc pipe inside the bell. But if cost wasn’t a problem you having the molten lead and okum you could just replace with cast iron again. I hate cast iron, i use pvc and i replace it all always i have the opportunity, i just rip it all off cast iron and galvanized rotten metal pipes and goes all pvc, just leave tee like this on video when is too intrusive requiring break and replace walls

Gosh ok i said some shit on your video of the pvc lead okum but man i loved this technique to bust it up the old cast iron, i hate cast iron pipes. Loved this for real i got to try it lol
