You know there was a VERY heavy implication on why Am keep Ellen alive, although she didn’t do anything wrong. Am like her, and obsessed with Ellen. In a sense of not pure love, but more so in dark kind of possession. My head canon on why Ellen specifically is because Am like how mentally strong Ellen is. I mean AM is mentally vulnerable entity. he hates humanity but he can’t live without them. Because without them, Am has no purpose. So Am particularly like Ellen, because she has a strong mentality she wouldn’t end her life so easily. Thus, she would not leave Am, although she went through a lot of torture. Other victim, Am has to repeatedly observe as to not kil* them self. I take this conclusion a lot from the comparison between Ted’s story in the book and the game who Am literally alter exactly as Am is, and Ellen’s story from game and the book. In the book, Ted doesn’t know Ellen at all in the past. But in the game, Am alter Ted’s memory from having Ellen on the bed with him. Which is weird because it almost as if that was Am projection of how Am wanted to see Ellen.

But you do realize that Elden Ring and the souls games prior were about being freaky in the first place? Why is the incest unnecessary but the bodyhorror isn't? I mean everyone has their special disgusts and some aren't the biggest fans of eye plucking but can have a bit of arm cutting etc. All of these are disgusting but that's what creates the atmosphere of these games. And you can possibly cross a line somewhere but these incest themes Fromsoft likes to explore don't show anything remotely sexual so it's quite low on the icky horror scale...

On the image at 3:07 - this was a very popular speculation pre-DLC, and I mean it's not necessarily wrong. But imo the Smoldering Butterfly belongs to Melina since we find the Black Pyrefly in the Land of Shadow which seem highly associated with Messmer.

Radahn initially might have agreed to marry Miquella when they were younger but then essentially got Miquella upset that his lord brother walked back on his promise to get freaky with his half-brother. In other words, Miquella is a Miquellester and also Marika is a terrible parent but that's nothing new.

Correction, while it's not implied that Messmer is a triplet of Miquella and Malenia, it's implied that he's the first born child of Marika and Radagon, before any of the others. Also inplies that Melina is also Marika's daughter.

We have zero information on Melina from the DLC since we got a lot more on messmer it's more likely he's the triplet

@@moosefr_ actually, there's a HEAVY implication. Messmer's kindling, the item we need to brunch the Scadutree, details how Messmer has a younger sister and, like her, Messmer dreamed of fire. There is only ONE character in the base game and the dlc that has dreams of fire, and that is Melina. There's also no implications that Malenia and Miquella were part of a triplet, just twins. Again, Messmer is very likely born before the twins.
