Christan Thanks for the video. I just finished my first Thayer valve cleaning, long overdue. I did not appreciate your tips until I took my valve apart and wondered how to reassemble it. So I looked at your video again and all the answers were there. I have a Getzen 3047 which came with your mouthpiece, C55, which I like a lot.

Christian, Thank-you for an excellent video (as usual). Great help for me changing spring and cork (yup cork now shipping from factory). Used some painters tape to prevent scratches. Job was easy!

Thanks, Gerry. I met you at the Trombone Workshop at Fort Myers about 10 years ago and have a few of your CDs. You have such a clean, open sound! I have a King 5B that has that sound! But it is not a bass, a .547 bore.

This is one of the most interesting and informative discussions I’ve come across in years. Chris us by far one of the most outstanding bass trb players america has produced. Edwards trbs are again one of the worlds finest trombones comparable with any on the market.

Can you send some videos with alessi playing Bach ?
@loneganger33086 күн бұрын
@@lsusmauaksh3948 I don't know if there are any KZbin videos, but I do have a couple of CD's where he played Bach trombone: An early solo album called "Slide Area" and a quartet album from around the same time titled "Four of a Kind". Both albums were on Summit records.

I am surprised when I hear that the loud issue still comes up at this level of playing. It is not like these players are high school kids.

I usually have been told to put some down the other side of the F tuning slide as well and work it down so it impacts the cone of the valve directly

Great interview and chat between two very talented muso's. Thanks (from someone who plays one of your trom's using a greigo mouthpiece). Fascinated by the discussion on how to balance exercise, life, diet etc to maximize performance. For me personally its about being adequately but not overly hydrated on an earlier light meal or snack!
