The first king of Khmer was Phra Chao Taeng Wan or Trasok Praam By seizing power from King Jayavarman IX, the last ancient Khom king. After seizing power King Trasok Praam also inherited 4 dynasties and became a colony of Siam. By Siam ruling Khmer - Ayutthaya 417 years - Thonburi 15 years - Rattanakosin 128 years Unifying Siam to rule Khmer... 417+15+128 = 560 years After that, France ruled Cambodia for another 90 years, total power = 650 years.

They didn't accomplish their mission of finding a suitable land or water route to the Pacific Ocean? Hogwash. That's because there WASN'T one! Also, #10 is unimportant. How about talking about the fact that the maps they made, mostly by Clark, were incredibly accurate? That is an incredible accomplishment.

The Americans should stay out of history, they just use it as propaganda. there was an abundance of potatoes in a warehouse in East Grinstead, when the famine broke out, the Brits kept these spuds for themselves and ate fish and chips every day.. More American bull shit used to stir trouble.

I have a copy of the Lewis and Clark "journal", a sort of final report, of their expedition. It was printed in Philadelphia in or around 1818. It's currently being appraised by Christie's of New York. I like old books, but if it turns out to be valuable, I may let it go, especially if the buyer is in an area covered by the expedition. Here in Nova Scotia, there's not much interest in it.

Ccd/catechism and a strict, religious mentally ill mother made me swear off all forms of Christianity/Catholicism I always thought the teachings were good, but the people teaching them were NOT, and the constant/consistent/contradictions and hypocrisy!!!! BUT learning about Quakers, has given me a renewed sense of hope. It kinda makes me want to pick up the Book again..

Well all we can say is that each culture has the oldest known form of writing or the wheel, but who invented the same is unknown. The picture of regular, common snails that are eaten are nothing like the snail whose organ has the purple, blue or red dye. The Phoenicians could travel across the sea because of the keel, otherwise they would have to stick to the coastline. The coastline was not mountainous, the inland was, the coastal hinterland was fairly flat, well watered and fertile. Mesopotamian sea ports? Alexander the Macedonian was not the first person or king that wanted the ports, trees and ships of the Phoenicians. The sacking of Tyre was silly, without the people there would be no continued cash cow, but just one big hit of pillage cash, Alexander was rather stupid to sack Tyre. Purple is the color of Witches and Wizards. The colors produced by processing the glands of those sea snails varied from red, blue and different shades of purple.

I don't think this video is very trustworthy. First of all, why are you showing footage of Japan before mentioning about the Japanese occupation, and one of the images look like hiroshima not cambodia. Second, pronounciation is important, you have google, you could've looked up how to pronounce Khmer and Siem Reap.

The views of some comments here are either untrue, irrelevant, taken out of context or general throughout the British Isles- At that time. You see the famine, which by the way lasted for five consecutive years with others before this date, as the Irish potato famine. It was throughout Western Europe including Scotland and England. Other countries were not as rely ant on the potato, coupled with the rising birthrate of the catholics. The blight was a disaster waiting to happen. The Irish insisted that food aid should be the potato, they said American corn gave them dysantery. Both the corn and corn mills supplied were destroyed by nationalists. Of the four million people died or displaced two million went overseas and the others died from desiese either in Ireland or later aboard ship or their adopted country. Large numbers went to cities in Britain where as a result streets in Liverpool say, were killed off due to typhus. The survivors integrated into British society and are present to this day unaware of their history or origins. A dark time indeed but perhaps not as first stated by certain groups on the Irish myth of famine and hatred.

Check out Deuteronomy 2:23, Jeremiah 47:4 and Amos 9:7. They point to a Cretan origin for the Philistines. They were advanced in iron smithing. They may have been part of or the bulk of the so-called sea peoples. They in turn may be the product of intermarriage between between the line of Japheth and the line of Ham, the progenitors of the first migrating to Crete from the Peloponnesus, and the second from Cyrenaíca.

Excellent review. You missed one very important point regarding the Christian Crusades. Justified or not, they were an answer to the Islamic Crusades that started with an invasion of Jerusalem, then across northern Africa, persecuting and killing anyone who wouldn’t convert to Islam. This persecution included Jews, Christians, and other people of the region. Whether it was an excuse by the then Pope to land-grab and/or empty prisons, the Islamic Crusade was the impetus for what became the Christian Crusades. Also, while the Christian Crusades lasted a few hundred years, and encompassed a few dozen battles, the Islamic Crusade - which again was the impetus for the Christian Crusades - lasted almost 1000 years up to the fall of the Ottoman empire after World War I in 1918/19. Note: please save your post stating that I am in someway justifying the Christian Crusades. I’m not. Any defensive reaction should be examined by the person posting. History is what it is.
