Remarkably good high kicks for a Kenpo stylist. I've seen the long version of this video filmed in one day to include techniques and applications. For years I heard he was bullshido, but he was fast, powerful, moved well, had control, and precision by what I saw. He was legit.

As in Kata 1, I was originally taught back in the 1970s with one difference in the foot maneuvers.

First form I ever learned way back around 1977. The only real difference is that I was always taught at the beginning of section 4 to step back with my left foot as opposed to stepping up with my right.

This is before professor cerio. 1-5 kata, 1-5 pinan. Even parts of crane if I'm not mistaken. They say shaolin kempo comes from shaolin. I just can't see how that's accurate. From cerio, to presarri, to Gascon. Professor Cerio certainly made his mark over in new england. I've met his black belts. Solid kempoists.

Seems to me that the choreography here is explained in such detail that one could make a martial arts movie fighting sequence out of it. I’m not hating on the techniques though they’re pretty solid

@@JWavyOrig23 Those boards are specifically made to break. Notice how perfect the breaking part is, no amount of punching or slapping force can perfectly divide a board like that.

always do a high block with the bo on an angle not horizontal, why step away when you are in striking range? makes no sense.

Martial Arts systems and Martial Artists are a very interesting study. For example, Nick was very good in his self-defense and his application of the techniques... yet his forms were terrible... Whereas, I know two Tang Soo Do masters whose forms are poetry in motion-- yet, their self-defense is terrible.

@@louisviola9763 steal the names? Cerio was a personal friend of Ed Parker and named the combinations at the suggestion of Parker. I'm sure if he had a problem with the names Cerio used, he would have taken it up with Cerio directly.
