Use to have a recording of this dance and some others that cannot be replaced by Sunni Bioland until Apple screwed up iTunes with an update and it was deleted. Thank you Apple, your help line told me nothing would change with my iTune app if I updated my OS. Another lie by the tech companies to screw over the public.

It's not "Horror lol, Hora Veche in romanian means "Old Hora" (veche = old). Hora is a circle dance and the name comes from the greek "khoros" which means "circle". Same etymology for "hour" (time circle/wheel)

Hey Steve. You're doing one of my favorite dances and doing it well. I don't know if you remember me, but about 43 years at we met at Stockton FD Camp, and you were almost my exact twin. Many of the people from my own FD group couldn't tell the difference. One evening in Old Town Sacramento, I had about 4 people go to my car where I had "Stay A Little Longer" (Mel Tillis) on cassette tape. This dance goes very well with that music. Gary

This video is a revelation! I learned the dance some five years after this video, by watching other dancers who were reasonably accurate, but nobody else did the brilliant style Atanas is showing us here. Thank you for posting it.

This is stolen from Palestinian. As usual they fake things and they copy everything. And this could be Lebanese no way Israeli. This is Arabic music and dance . Get out of our land.

There is no such thing as Israel. Debka is a Palestinian traditional dance that was made by Palestinians.

I think that it is Michel Neys during his stay in Israel during the 80's. He was Israeli dance teacher in Belgium and was teaching also mathematics to children in primary schools. As a child I wanted to go there also but it was a moment a bit dangerous in Israel so my parents didn't allow me to go there. I send the answer to Nathalie Lebalus, she might confirm but the problem is that I don't think she speaks English

I remember when this song/dance was first introduced in the U S in the places where we learned Israeli Folk dancing like in Los Angeles at Cafe Dansa and at the Los Angeles Valley College and at a temple in Northridge etc. so full of life and excitement and at least three circles of people around each other. So full of life. I loved it.

Ah, Atanas Kolarovski - when we were young........ Thanks to the person who put this on KZbin, there are no other videos of Atanas on KZbin as far as I know and I would love to see some of his many wonderful dances here. This video reminds me of the Atanas I first had the pleasure to dance with in 1965 in the Netherlands when he stayed with our folkdance group for a week of great dancing and fun (and a bottle of slivowitz under the table at our dance weekend at a youth hostel!!!)
