Given how self aware they were in the promo of the Knuckles mech of it not fitting him, i'd bet the mech was a requirement from higher ups more than a decision from the design team, given how the glider, master emerald and rouge would fit waay better in this set(it would also explain why we got a random boat for tails in the start of this theme)

so many people complain about the master emerald shrine not having the master emerald. i feel like i might be the only person on the planet who was actually glad it didn't. if it did, then you wouldn't wanna get the knuckles mech set. you would probobly only get it for rouge really. and besides, did you wanna have 2 master emeralds? at the end of the day, to each their own but personally i didnt have an issue with this and i collected all the sets no problem. tho when wave 2 gets retired then that might be an issue....

Could you make Sonic 3 and Knuckles title screen? I know it's like the other two, but it would look cool.

This would kind of be like if they released a daily plan set with all the office workers, a villain, and every noteworthy Superman character except for any actual superheroes. Then, if you want to have the heroes, save the day, you have to buy a set of equal price to only get the heroes without any villains

I’m not a big fan of mechs, so I got the pieces for the Master Emerald and the stand, and built them myself (before the Shrine set was even released!). And I got bits to make more columns so as to display seven differently coloured Chaos Emeralds.

I just bought the Master Emerald off Bricklink. It was under £3 for the emerald (2 pieces, ~£2.50) and the holding thing (10 pieces, ~£0.35). They also had the shards that go inside it in trans-bright green (to match the Master Emerald) instead of the trans-green that comes with the mech. So in some ways doing this is an upgrade.

The thing is, if they planned the sets out a bit better they could have totally done the collect em all aspect with the chaos emeralds and the master emerald. Being able to collect the chaos emeralds in the original Sonic set as part of the building experience was my favorite thing 😔

the separation of the emerald and girls across the sets is frustrating but not surprising. i may just try to part some sections out on bricklink. great video, thanks for sharing!! love the BONK noise with amy's hammer lol

I’m not really a big sonic fan but the amount of creative play gimmicks I’ve seen in the theme is really nice, especially when lego is taking steps away from that sort of design philosophy.

I haven’t gotten the set yet but it seems pretty cool and I love the face print for knuckles, the angry facial expression suits him well.

Great build. I didn't play much of sonic as a kid. I was a nintendo kid. I played a little with friends. Love sonic legos and after watching a sonic game playthru I realy think the marble zone was one lego shpuld do and I realy think your build matches the zone verry well. It mite have just inspired me to make one myselfe using somenpieces from the master emrald shrine.

I think I prefer the Angel Island one , if it werent for Rouge being an exklusive on the Guardian mech one which is the one I got. I just hope that Rouge the bat mini fig will get more re releases.

Even though it’s not the best set, it makes me really happy that LEGO Sonic has avoided the LEGO Spiderman issue of Sonic getting unnecessary vehicles by so far mostly just giving the vehicle sets to Tails and Eggman. Except for the knuckles mech but I forgive that one for giving us two new characters and because if I HAD to give knuckles a vehicle a fighting mech would probably be my pick

Tails Adventure 2 confirmed. Also in Sonic the Fighters, Tail's stage is a cruise ship down a canyon. Always found that kind of interesting but this lego set showing him making a speed boat reminded me he technically built the Tornado for joy ride purposes (given he had the plane made as a gift to Sonic), and only later modified it for combat out of convenience (after the Tornado 1 was shot down in Sonic 2 and the Tornado 2 was literally used to stop a war twice)
