We went twice in 1985 & 86. Took the Tram to Long Valley then hiked 2 miles (which gains 600 ft. elevation) to Round Valley. We camped at Round Valley and day hiked to the summit the next day, absolutely gorgeous! We saw mule deer, a bobcat and even a glimpse of a puma, which was about all I'd wanna see of any puma from a short distance.
