I have lots of very happy memories of the village, and friends, at 60 years old l intend to go back again next year again. I will always hold the 2 years from 12 to 14 years old close to my heart.

I have been back to the village twice, once in 1995 and again in 2009. I live back in Weymouth now. We were so pleased when dad said he had a job back in Weymouth, we moved back in November 1978.

Being from the coast it was strange living so far from the sea, but we used to fish in Horton lake (we didn't have licences) in the brook by Dudley Winterbottom hall, and occasionally in Ransom road gravel pit in Northampton as well 😊

I remember the Taylor family lived at 8 Pinetrees close, the Myatt family, Coxes, and Wakelins lived in the close as well. We used to go to scouts on a Friday evening at the village hall, it was great, once a month we used to go into Northampton to go swimmimg in the Mounts pool.

I love these posts, back in 1976 we moved to Hackleton from Weymouth in Dorset until the end of 1978, my father was a sergeant with Dorset police, he had to leave due to ill health, and retrained as a careers officer. We were going to move to 3 Beech close, but the sale fell through so we ended up going to 2 Pinetrees close instead. I and my younger brothers Bernie and Ian went to Roade school, and my sister Sheila to the village school. Happy memories.
What about the other side of site? There were two parts that made the holiday Park.

The street you can see at 1:00 is the most expensive in Northampton. People go there at Christmas just to see the lights many of the householders put up. It looks amazing.

Nice video, a bit nerve wracking having your drone 1000m plus away from you, over water!

I spent two summers in 1974 and 1975 in this castle to learn English. I remember a big wooden staircase and very old cedars in the park. it was a great place!

You're so lucky no one came out shooting with both barrels! And that no one was skinny dipping in the pool, lol. I'm wondering if anyone knows why there's two apparent houses. Was the older, smaller one the original Althorp House? It's a massive place .. Diana must have had fun exploring as a child. She certainly never knew what it was like to be 'normal' .. always everything on a very grand scale!

I think the other building you're referring to is the stable block.

I have an Inspire 1 Pro and have flown it long distances but never over populated areas and at an altitude that is well clear of any churches or trees. Please be careful my friend, it only takes one bad thing to happen and we will all suffer. I think these amazing machines are made to explore, but not where they may cause injury to persons or property.

That is incredible! What are the chances of extending the connection to the property owner? I am curious if I have any relation, given my last name (Howsley).

Great video, just reading some of the comments take no notice of boring people Who have nothing better to do but complain about other people's accomplishments, hobbies and be negative. There is more risk walking past the golf course or cycling on the road.....

Splendid footage! Technically this is over Springvale and Puckpool Park, returning towards Oakhill Road (where I spent many a holiday at my grandparents' house) and back to the beach again. Seaview village can be seen further down the coast. Happy, happy memories.

good flight mate, it would definitely be interesting if you used the larger upgraded 5700mah battery for a test range, ive always said if you have a clear signal like you have over fields etc the battery is the only thing stopping it from going further.
