Thank you to you both! It is amazing how the emotional content of painful memories can totally overpower the logical mind. This process seems to shift the memory into its proper place. Clearly she was never a horrible person... just a teenager doing what teenagers do! But now this lovely lady can believe that.... exactly what her step father would have wanted for her.

This was VERY helpful for me. I am starting EMDR and don’t know what to expect so this eases some anxieties. Thank you!

Strange thought! Why didn’t you shake his hand as a token of appreciation. You have suffered so so much why not authentic your release with real thanks Perhaps you are two professionals in this day and age of PC one doesn’t do that anymore? Overall though most brilliant ! Thanks for your courageous examples

Thank you both for sharing both a specific application of EMDR in a treatment session, sharing yourselves and sharing some aspects of the technique. I am thankful for having found your video. I feel impelled to find a therapist who is trained in EMDR and has experience.

Very good example. I'm wondering a couple of things, first is about the speed at which you're doing the movements. My comment is that it seems to be a bit fast during processing, and I seem to see several times where her eyes stop moving in sync with your fingers. Secondly, when you're installing the positive belief toward the end, we were taught to do shorter and slower EMs during relaxation/installing positive beliefs. I'm curious as to why your speed seems to be the same throughout.

In my training we were taught to only use slow short shots for a state change, like home safe place or something, but whenever you're working on trait change to go fast. also, I think that client sometimes will periodically lose tracking if they are processing. I couldn't really see her eyes in this video so I'm not sure
