Your not the first to ask that mate. Sadly I was running behind with that commission so didn't have time to make a follow up. Fortunately I have several aluminium sheets in the workshop and intend to do a step be step of building and painting.

Really cool technique! how hot do you need the heat gun?
@andyfirthbespoke

To be honest it's not the heat you need but the wind. I have a two speed gun and I use it on the first setting otherwise I'd shoot the resin across the shop.

Great video series, Andy! I've always wondered how to do resin and wood like this. Thanks!

Fantastic table build, great result! Out of interest, how did you prepare the Olive slab one resawn, did you thickness it? I pushed some olive through my thicknesser recently but it had awful tearout.
@andyfirthbespoke

Hi Chris, no, I make sure I buy the thickness I need. This was just over an inch and only required sanding after the resin was poured and set. Sometime it's as simple as putting the wood through the thicknesser with the grain running in the correct direction to avoid really bad tearout..

Groundcrew always MUST look the part as well. No 1980s mullet, no "I am just slouching about at home today" duds will do. White overalls, proper haircut, proper demeanor are a MUST. But, can such things be taught?
